July 1, 2021 at 2:46 pm #209509Excellent with some good questions and really good answers.
We should have made him a good offer and made him captain because I don’t think he would take any crap..
July 1, 2021 at 3:38 pm #209513Jem only told us what most of us already knew! Most of the squad didn’t give a flying f@£k what happened to the club and they should hang their heads in shame.
If we did this in our everyday jobs we would have been sacked months before, But because the club only had limited players with experience they got away with it.
You can’t blame him for walking away but wish we could have kept him and like Misterton said made him captain, we now know why the signings have been slow as Cox is making sure this doesn’t happen again.1 user thanked author for this post.
July 1, 2021 at 4:25 pm #209519Excellent insight on the season, many of the things karacan said are what many fans have thought,I just hope cox gets the players he wants, and karacan gets his wish to play against us at Glanford park so he can get the applause he deserves!
July 1, 2021 at 4:35 pm #209522Fair enough but we dont want Karacan to come back and give us a tonking, do we tonka?
July 1, 2021 at 4:38 pm #209523Of course not,I hope we stuff whatever team he’s playing for ,just some applause before the game!

July 1, 2021 at 4:39 pm #209524The issue is if Jem knew it why didn’t an ex-professional know it !!
Why did the manager continually select the same players that Jem is pointing at, why didn’t he drop the ego’s and give players who actually wanted to fight for the club a chance !
I will hope for the best.

July 1, 2021 at 5:41 pm #209527If Karacan expects to be playing in L2 next season might it be a good idea to revise his contract offer?

July 1, 2021 at 6:07 pm #209528Message for Swann Senior and Junior: Get down the harbour, find the boat and push it out…we need him more than anyone else next season.
July 1, 2021 at 6:34 pm #209529Message from the club…
Once we’ve sold 3,000 season tickets we will!

Message from fans. 🖕
July 1, 2021 at 9:17 pm #209543Really good if ultimately depressing listen if you have not heard it yet.
You can see why the club offered a contract they knew he would turn down. We don’t want that kind of honesty around here.
July 1, 2021 at 11:08 pm #209553Excellent interview and thanks to Karacan for giving straight answers. Sounded like he would stay if Swann came back in with a suitable offer.
July 1, 2021 at 11:38 pm #209554Cox comes out of it with some credit.
Other decision-makers less so!

July 2, 2021 at 1:57 am #209556The great work of the transfer committee “probably swann sr and swann junior”
This is what you get when people stick their noses in to areas they shouldn’t be delving into.
Those players we had last season sounded like right arseholes.
July 2, 2021 at 5:59 am #209557I’m reading between the lines here WG but it would seem most of the assholes are still here.

One certainly is.

It was a bit frustrating that players weren’t named. He did say that a lot of the non-league signings were happy just to be at the club, but didn’t have the right attitude to become FL players. If that’s the case then you are right MK, they are still here.
He seemed to exclude the older pros and the players that joined during the season his mate the goalie, Brown and Kev.

July 2, 2021 at 4:04 pm #209577The mystery man who didn’t do his homework before the Morecambe shambles is still here.
Well if he’s still here he’s not a mystery man is he? Come on cough up the info.
July 2, 2021 at 5:20 pm #209584Thought it was one of the most revealing ‘In conversations’ we’ve had.
Main points:
Swann’s ability to handle transfer negotiations is pitiful at best and seems to totally derail our seasons when we try offering new deals.
Cox comes across as a decent coach and tried his best to motivate players that weren’t fit for purpose. Karacan had no need to blow smoke up him but certainly paints him a good light.
There’s a rotten cohort who were/are not arsed whether we get relegated or not; the fact he said it was players from
Non league leave little to the imagination.I doubt Swann has little interest in bringing him back after that interview but he’s exactly the type of character we need around the place.

July 2, 2021 at 5:41 pm #209585Interesting insight into what went on. Doesn’t give much hope for new signings and probably explains why there’s been so few, sounds like the club starts off offering peanuts which isn’t even enough to instigate a negotiation.
Like others have said seems to confirm what a lot on here thought was happening.July 2, 2021 at 5:44 pm #209586If it was as described by Karacan, under normal employment law there would be grounds for dismissal of the rotten cohort. Trouble is the squad size would be down to about 5 or 6 for the new season.

Come along Watson!
Simply look back at the team that played Morecambe deduct those who have been released and see who is left. Elementary!
Sherlock.
July 2, 2021 at 5:52 pm #209590Seems like the need for new blood is even more desperate than we first thought.
July 2, 2021 at 6:22 pm #209592One certainly is.
How do you know?
We haven’t heard a dicky-bird for months!
Oh dear NI, I knew you liberals weren’t quick on the uptake but….
Not a dicky bird, a very big one.

There’s still Taft, O’Malley, Hippolyte and Spence left who played in that team
July 2, 2021 at 7:22 pm #209597There you go then!
Pick the most likely one of the four.

As the great man said to Watson after having his front porch decorated a shade of primrose.
” Lemon entry my dear Watson “.
