Topics: 80How about Bru being the custodians of fundraising for a Phoenix club?
January 20, 2023 at 2:38 pm #253478We really need someone to step forward and take a lead to drive all of this. I’d love to do it but just don’t have the time, nor do I live close enough to the town for this to be practical. The Trust would be the obvious choice, though from what I’ve read on here that doesn’t look very likely.
Anyone have any suggestions/ideas? Supporters from other clubs have managed to achieve a lot but it needs a big commitment.
January 20, 2023 at 2:42 pm #253479lots of people wanting other to step forward on here. How about just getting on with and outlining 1stly who will recieve the money and for what

January 20, 2023 at 3:11 pm #253483If anyone has got a plan for fund-raising. We need an organised meeting with time and place. I for one will gladly help.

January 20, 2023 at 3:12 pm #253484I don’t think we can rely on the Iron Trust to help.
January 20, 2023 at 3:14 pm #253485Phew! for a minute there I thought you’d forgot an Iron Trust dig

Well what have they done throughout this?
January 20, 2023 at 4:22 pm #253489I have no idea how a share issue might work – not my field at all but might be a good start.
January 20, 2023 at 4:56 pm #253490Maybe British steel will put 5 million in from the 300 million the government are near to funding them, the Tories certainly like Scunthorpe, big thanks to Holly Mumby for her tireless work for the uk steel industry without it there would have been hundreds of redundancies announced today, let’s hope the deal goes through, unlike the football’s.

January 20, 2023 at 5:15 pm #253492Any one know legally how we can start a giving fund and a crowd fund for SUFC. Is there any person on here with any legal knowledge how to start us off?
January 20, 2023 at 6:03 pm #253497You can start a crowd funding for just about anything, although government run things like the NHS might be the exception.
All we need is someone, like the Iron Trust, to set it up, it takes minutes. Then links can be posted, on here and social media. Famous faces from the past, ie Botham, Keegan and Clemance, could be informed.
There is a lot of love for our football club, Blimey even Cods are saying they would contribute…
Before anyone asks, I’m not the right person. No single person is, other than the famous faces I mentioned earlier (that would be amazing.)
Please let us not be yet another much loved club that goes to the wall. Let us attempt every effort, go down every avenue.
It’s not with the gods, it’s with us.
Please UTI

I’m not “expecting” others to do this but hope there is someone, or a group of supporters, willing and able to do so. Plenty on here have been telling everyone how the club should be run so here’s an opportunity for them to prove their point.

January 21, 2023 at 4:46 pm #253570If and when it gets to the the stage of needing a phoenix club, I’d be surprised if the local consortium wouldn’t want to lead on that. Don’t see the point in anyone raising funds for one whilst we still have a club, however precarious it is. I think you’re jumping the gun tbh. If and when it’s necessary, I’m sure things will develop quickly.
January 21, 2023 at 5:44 pm #253576A GoFundMe set up with all proceeds going directly into the Iron Trust bank account. Surely any trust member, preferably living in the Scunthorpe area can set this up in five minutes. All they need is the account details to do this.

January 21, 2023 at 5:55 pm #253577What LK so they can donate it all to charities?
January 21, 2023 at 7:36 pm #253581The whole sorry saga gets more bizarre by the day – now one of Swann’s most ardent defenders on here for years is imploring someone, anyone, else to set up a fundraising campaign for a phoenix club that we don’t know is definitely needed yet. You couldn’t make it up!

Yeah, of course you would!

Any answer on this fans?
