if i lived in scunny i’d be drinking the town dry the nightMay 2, 2024 at 6:20 pm #285141Hardly inspiring.
May 2, 2024 at 6:32 pm #285146Past his sell by date. And a no to Crosby, too negative
May 2, 2024 at 8:12 pm #285162Likely to jump ship back to Oldham or even Chezzy when the going gets tough during the festive spell.
May 2, 2024 at 8:15 pm #285164There’s no guarantees but I’ll give home a few seasons,if his team plays how he did,it’ll be a ride for sure .Top top player
May 2, 2024 at 8:20 pm #285165Sheridan is surely not an actual possibility ?
May 3, 2024 at 9:23 am #285207I would say if this is correct then the club must be confident of finances as he won’t be the cheap option and will be expecting a few decent signing at least.I hope he is coming and succeeds, I did like him as a player
May 3, 2024 at 9:40 am #285209What will be will be was said during the drumroll for Dean leaving, I guess that still stands but hopefully not Sheridan.

I don’t think it can be correct, surely? The club, under Michelle’s stewardship, seems to be trying to be truly realistic about the finances. In other words it’s cutting coat according to cloth, or that is the ultimate aim. I don’t see the Board risking what would be an expensive punt. Far more likely to promote Andy Butler (or bring in Brian Laws) than anything else, I think.
May 3, 2024 at 11:05 am #285225Joey Barton anyone? Ticks a lot boxes for some; passionate, loyal, a geezer, and he’s available. And he’s cheap, judging by his recent outpourings.
May 3, 2024 at 11:13 am #285228I should add a slight correction to say “confident in their stewardship of the finances ” and by decent I meant well considered not necessarily expensive
May 3, 2024 at 11:19 am #285229Sure it’s not Sheridan Smith? She’s from Epworth.
May 3, 2024 at 11:48 am #285233Sheridan is surely not an actual possibility ?
He’s been without a management job for almost 2 years. If he’s desperate for cash then it’s possible. Personally I’d rather have somebody desperate to succeed, like Jimmy but with more experience/ability/contacts.

Lol…. a good majority of the fan base, employees and the owner are female, so that may be an issue.
Don’t think Lawsy is up for it, too long out of the game and enjoying retirement although will make BPG happy.
I honestly have no idea it will be interesting who applies, if the job is advertised. Maybe Binface if he doesn’t get the Mayor gig?
May 3, 2024 at 1:29 pm #285245‘a good majority of the fan base, employees and the owner are female, so that may be an issue.’
But not for a sizeable contingent of our supporter base! Anyway, unity, and all that. Vive la difference!
May 3, 2024 at 2:12 pm #285250Harness seems to like continuity at the club with past appointments either been at the club previously or are from the area. I wonder if she wants Nelson as boss with Butler as assistant with Butterfield adding to the mix signing on as a coach ?
I liked Nelson last time he was here and with Butler and Butterfield aiding him, it could very well work.
I keep reading Brian Laws, but can’t be him, surely ?

May 3, 2024 at 2:53 pm #285252Nelson should never have been replaced before and Butterfield with Butler would be a good choice as player/coach and assistant manager in my opinion.
May 3, 2024 at 2:59 pm #285253Nelson ain’t coming back, keep looking!
May 3, 2024 at 3:04 pm #285255We should be asking Butterfield what he wants to stay and, as long as it’s not ridiculous, give him what he wants.
May 3, 2024 at 4:41 pm #285281Butterfield always gives me the impression in interviews that he likes playing here plus the generous donation he gave when we almost went pop . If offered the role he may well think number two to Andy or player coach would be a good career move at a big club like ours in the standard we currently find ourselves. I think the majority of fans would approve he’s very popular with the fan base as is Andy.
