Off to Grimsby with Hurst apparently. Can’t say I’ll lose too much sleep over it.

June 8, 2021 at 4:51 pm #208235Apparently we’re getting compo.
Sooner have Nora Batty!
June 8, 2021 at 6:55 pm #208239Now announced.
June 8, 2021 at 7:31 pm #208240Good riddance. Lazy little shite bag can display his crap work rate somewhere else.
I listened to his Grimsby interview….
“I feel I work really hard off the ball”
Is he for real ?
June 8, 2021 at 7:39 pm #208241His few good displays happened under Hurst, remember his equaliser away at Bradford in the 2-2 draw, he was excellent that day but sadly he couldn’t be arsed under Wilcox then Cox. He appears to like working under Hurst and I reckon he will do well under him in the National League. Best for him and us that he’s gone really but as premier iron says, he could be a good player.
June 8, 2021 at 7:39 pm #208242i sometimes cant believe you are real wonder bowels. like a cliche in a human form
June 8, 2021 at 7:51 pm #208244the fact he couldn’t attract any other club but a non league one tells you his level. And if he is relying on someone else to motivate him to play then i would question his motivation too.
June 8, 2021 at 7:53 pm #208245Seemed to deteriorate during the last 12 months but the same could be said for most our team.
Under Hurst I expect him to do well in the National League.
June 8, 2021 at 8:14 pm #208246Anyway exciting times ahead, we are having a circus.
June 8, 2021 at 8:40 pm #208247I reckon he’ll do well there, I suspect that this might be another young player who we regret let slipping through our fingers.

June 8, 2021 at 10:25 pm #208248Nearly all bad mouthing of him from the forum members, but he has shown that he can be a very good player, and we do not know his side of the story. He was reported to be on £800 salary per week whilst players like Turan, Hippolytie whore on more than him, and they are pure rubbish, and would any of you gus want to work under Coxes playing systems, or should I say non-playing system. He will do well at Grimsby and we will be changing places no doubt next season when we head into the National League. Pity he has gone, and with the likes of Green, Loft, Hippolyte and Jarvis and of cource Coxews team of clowns still at the club, god help us.
June 9, 2021 at 12:40 am #208250he has shown that he can be a very good playe
Nobody is disputing the fact he’s really talented. The point in question is that his work rate and effort for the most part was disrespectful.
Loft proved last season he’s a capable player with the goals he scored. Green also in my opinion proved he has some ability.
I can’t for the life of me think how you can lump those two in with Hippolyte, Jarvis and Turan…who really need sticking straight in the nearest rubbish dump.
John McAtee came to this club having played about 10 minutes of pro football, he was a YT at Shrewsbury, he came originally as a youth team player, had about 6 or 7 good games and then went to shit.
Give me a Loft any day over him..doesn’t possess the same level of ability but least he runs himself into the floor.
How many did he score last season, 9 goals ?
Not that great by any means but he showed enough about him to suggest he’ll be a fairly good striker at lg two level.
Personally glad McAtee has gone. No doubt he will probably shine at that level “providing he can be bothered” but in the manner he performed while here, he wouldn’t have benefited us if he hung around for any longer.
McAtee moving on is best for all parties.
June 9, 2021 at 1:01 am #208252Hippo gets far more stick on here than he deserves. He is no world-beater but he tries – which is lot more than many did last season.
We know that Jarvis was a longshot with his record but he was playing when the team we were putting out was an undiluted horror. I recall him taking a couple of goals well and frankly – have we really seen enough to judge yet?
If we put out a greatly improved team – let us say one which rises to the dizzy heights of one notch up from mediocre – perhaps we will see the best of him.As for MacAtee – he needs to leave for both his own sake and for the club. I actually wonder if we had guessed he would inevitably follow Hurst and consequently made him a contract offer just to get a few bob back from the Cods.
I reckon that Hurst will again bring out the best in him. There is a seriously good player in there. Is there any reason why we cannot have a sell-on clause too? -
