Thought bill was referring to that excellent knock by Root at Trent Bridge and had got the spelling wrong. Think folks will take a while to realise the non football forum is back as it doesn’t appear on the main menu, just the Blast Furnace.

Not the sort of thread to entice anyone back really.

But someone has to be first.

I always feel that when people resort to mockery, it is because their arguments lack substance.

I often think it’s because they’re bored of repeating the same evidence based response again and again and are faced with yet more futility trying to reason with dogma.

I’d also add to your post above les that, whilst you aim not to offend or insult any posters on Bru, you’re okay with what I perceive to be a thinly veiled insult, as in ‘arguments lack substance’. Just my opinion, but it smacks of piety and is a little patronising. I personally have no problem with posters on Bru promoting Christianity or religion, as long as you guys accept with some dignity that you’re opening yourselves up to be criticised or mocked. Bru is chocka with mockery; those who post about Christianity or religion are not exempt from this.

I would be fine with religious debate. However, BPG isn’t interested in such. He just wants to preach and proselytise.

JustIron has provided good debate on the subject, which doesn’t bring the same fatigue at dealing with a BPG sermon. He gives the impression he cannot comprehend other viewpoints. :-)

Agree with that. JI at least provides a reasoned argument and a bit less subjectivity and personal enlightenment. Seen nothing from bpg, and les so far, to suggest they are offering this.

I’d say that a large part of being a *Christian is about preaching and proselytising.

*Other religions are available. See terms and conditions.
