“I thought it was a tight game. I thought on the balance of it we edged it to be honest with you.” – No Jimmy, nowhere near.
“It’s a poor one to concede and the other one it looked like a harsh penalty for me.”
Yes, I’ll agree with you there.
“We’ve had a few chances in between, Will’s [Smith] had one.” – yes, not a few, one!
“It’s a tragic moment for the club.” – Can’t argue with that.
“It is one where I promise that we are going to be in a lot better shape next season.” – Careful, we might remember you said that.
“I just said in there that today was a lot better than it has been. It was better than it had been in the previous two.” – it was bound to be, not a lot better though.
“Ultimately, we haven’t been good enough” – again no argument.
“They have to be boys that want to be here and that’s important. We need boys who want to be here and want to play for Scunthorpe next season.” – Pretty much what we wanted this season then, what went wrong?
Fine words Jimmy albeit with a suggestion of delusion. Can you back it up with the actions to fulfil your promise?
He also said he had to aim for promotion next year, or he’ll lose his job. So let’s see what he can do with players he chooses himself. Give him ten or so games in NLN.
Only thing I can see him doing is signing very specific players to play that one formation he’s hell bent on playing. The one that hasn’t suited the players this time around which has failed to work in the 14 games so far.
What formation would that be ?He does not seem to plan any successful player
