Did JD get concussion because he thought it was a perfect away performance. The mans deluded. He also thought the subs had an impact. They did but for the wrong reason. He better try Tic Tacs because his Tactics are woeful.

February 6, 2024 at 11:20 pm #280553The manager was correct in dropping B
February 6, 2024 at 11:36 pm #280555Subbing Pugh for Wilson was correct. He almost won us the game. Taking Whitehall off when he was on a yellow and looking to mix it was correct too.
Taking off Sembie-Ferris was wrong!
February 6, 2024 at 11:46 pm #280557Once again points thrown away by stupidity, Dean was correct in dropping Beestin and Wilson who were a complete waste of tine last Saterday, but why the hell did he bring them on tonight and take two players off that were holding play in the Blyth half. Beesting never even got involved in play, and Wilson gave the ball away that led to the Blyth goal, it was the only shot they had in the full game. The goal was aklso a result of anotrher howler by the keeper, who appeared to be a bit clever into the simple save that he fluffed, gifting Blyth a last minute goal after bewing outplayed all match.
Why the hell does Dean make such stupid substitutions and throws games away???
Tamworth will be laughing at this result, and it could easily be anoth game on Saturday against a lot better team than Scunny faced tonight.February 6, 2024 at 11:51 pm #280558Should have been out of sight before the late substitutions. But for the ref and the lack of a proper goal scorer.

Elliot has been and still is a goal scorer at this level, but has never been properly utilized. Stick Elliot upfront with Whitehall and he’d net regularly.
I find it non the least surprising that we’ve changed up to 2 upfront twice and he’s scored shortly after on both occasions. That isn’t a coincidence it just goes to prove what we’ve all said numerous times before, Elliot isn’t a wide player or lone striker.

February 7, 2024 at 9:07 am #280582Jeez, how many Jimmy Dean threads do we need on the go? Rene, reckon you could refrain from resurrecting all the old ones please?
February 7, 2024 at 9:16 am #280583Will do.
But… many threads make a web.
One in which we are snared.
The common denominator is…
Pity we’re skint – in days gone by we might be changing the nameplate on the door.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 7, 2024 at 1:34 pm #280597Commentated the other day Dean saw moving Elliot off the wing into the centre worked and playing a proper winger WG , I questioned whether he would remember come Tuesday and obviously he didn’t.
From what I’ve read didn’t watch or listen myself, just another normal away performance for this season, people going on about Tamworth and their results, when all that’s needed is to concentrate on our own results and performances and we all know they’ve being woefully short of being a side that wins the league, if there were 7 decent teams in the league we would be 7th.Just need to hit some form near the end of season ready for the playoffs, just 2/3 games we definitely need to win nothing else will do.

Exactly Dean’s job to coach the players to be mentally up for the challenge, do the homework on the opposition, work on tactics and formations in training, and make decisions during the game that have a positive impact. If he’s being marked on all that at present then ‘must do better’.
February 7, 2024 at 4:04 pm #280610Watched it on stream Awaywego and I would say it was different to most of our away performances this season.
That was more down to Blyth than ourselves. They deliberately stood off us and kept a rigid defensive shape. We were allowed to pass at will across the back four and pretty much across the midfield with them thinking we would be ponderous and lack creativity in those areas. They got that right.
We did create and squander a few chances and had a perfectly good goal disallowed and if we had scored earlier we would probably have won comfortably against what was a fairly poor side.
As it was we scored late and then did the Iron speciality of sitting back and “managing” the game. Roughly translated this means surrendering the initiative until we make schoolboy errors to hand them a goal. This time Wilson and Fitzsimons managed to drop a clanger each in the same move.
If we had played with any pace and purpose we would surely have scored 4 or 5. Butterfield doesn’t half look good when he doesn’t play.

Pedantic I know, but 8th, surely?

February 8, 2024 at 9:24 am #280637Adkins used to defend poor performances and have you coming away thinking “we’ll be fine” because he’d have that way of making you believe in the team. I can’t imagine Dean having that effect.
