Perhaps some “fans” are disappointed that we didn’t take the filthy lucre from some Middle Eastern human rights abusers.
January 30, 2023 at 11:35 am #254447I seriously think that Hill left what was the Bedlam of GP as a broken man.

January 30, 2023 at 3:02 pm #254480From the Peterborough Telegraph:-
“It was only ever a matter of time before Jimmy Dean’s amazing managerial numbers led to a job at a high profile club.”
High profile!!!!! Are we sure he’s come to The Iron?
January 30, 2023 at 3:09 pm #254482The Iron maybe just a little detour on the way.
Despite his success at Peterborough Sports and the likelihood we will share the same League next season we did pull aalmost 10 times their average home attendance on Saturday.
In those terms we are a bigger club. His old team would probably beat his new team at the moment though.

Don’t think we need an ageing test cricketer and a washed up snooker player TBH.
January 30, 2023 at 7:18 pm #254499Pat’s the one who should be put in charge of catering, not me.
On that note, did the pies run out at half-time?
Hilton’s been in charge for less than a week and already some are moaning. Nothing really changes.

January 30, 2023 at 7:49 pm #254506They did run out in Donny road end, who ate all them pies?
January 30, 2023 at 8:31 pm #254510Hilton’s been in charge for less than a week and already some are moaning. Nothing really changes.
You’ll Always get moaners and you’ll always get happy clappers.
Generally speaking, I’ve not seen the fanbase so energised for a long time as they were on Saturday. It felt like a totally different club and the ground was bouncing.
There’s a good interview with Bromley’s manager on YouTube which alludes to it and a few of their fans who were there said the crowd got us the point.
Now it’s not often you hear that about a Scunthorpe home game.

Human nature.
People enjoy a good moan.
The News – 90% is normally ‘bad’ news.January 31, 2023 at 3:52 pm #254600‘Hilton’s been in charge for less than a week and already some are moaning. Nothing really changes.’
Oh sorry, let’s all stop questioning anything the new owner does shall we? You know, like last time, till it was nearly too late? Nothing against the new owner and like everyone else, I hope he’s a huge success. We need to let him get on with his job and see where it takes us, but for goodness sake quell concerns and criticisms at your peril and stop labelling those that do as ‘moaners’. Have you learnt nothing?
January 31, 2023 at 3:56 pm #254601Lol,I miss being told to shut up by freedom od speech warriors

January 31, 2023 at 6:47 pm #254610Come off it, Deerey, I’m not talking about people questioning things or being cautious. What I’m talking about is people moaning and groaning, which is very different.
I’ve never had a problem with concerns or criticism, but all too often people on here have moaned and groaned about anything and everything. Just because things didn’t work out with Swann doesn’t change that.
Little over a week ago I was convinced the club was doomed, yet here we are. Of course plenty of things can go wrong and undoubtedly will, but I do hope people will be rather more constructive than they have in the past.

January 31, 2023 at 7:06 pm #254613Lol, you’ve got some front Bucks, I’ll give you that!
January 31, 2023 at 8:47 pm #254626I never thought I’d say this but I agree with bucks. Club has gone from near extinction to now having a lot put in place already. HMRC settled and the transfer embargo lifted is one example of this.
I don’t know why certain posters would moan as much as they have when we’ve gone from where we were to where we are now. As Bucks states above, plenty could go wrong in the future but to say what Hilton’s achieved in a little under a week is remarkable really, it’s the here and now people should be focussing on.

Topics: 59It’s amazing what you can get up to in a mere 7 days:
“It took the Apollo 11 astronauts three days, three hours and 49 minutes to reach the moon, but they returned in two days, 22 hours and 56 minutes.“
Buzz, Neil and the ‘other one’ must have had a hell of a ride!
Poor old Michael, the forgotten man.
I guess someone had to drive the ‘taxi’Let’s hope our James Dean is a better driver than his namesake and steers us to success.
January 31, 2023 at 9:45 pm #254634Find myself agreeing with Bucks and WG on the same day.
Not sure that has happened before.
As Iron fans we have had a tough time of it and some are a little cautious regarding the new owner and the new management team.
Given the last owner and a series of unsuccessful managers this is understandable. However, given the size of the challenge the club faces to either stay in this league or at least return to it very quickly then a break from the moaning and petty bickering would help.
We all want the same thing for the club but we all have different opinions how best to get there.
The opinions that matter most right now belong to Hilton and Dean. Why not support them until such time as they either succeed or prove they are not worthy of that support.

January 31, 2023 at 10:03 pm #254635I had not heard of him before, but Plummer the no 2 is an experienced ex pro and if they play attacking football I will be very happy and with Nelson Head Coach they will have extra experience.

Still trotting out your pathetic lies, instead of apologising to those of us you accused of things we hadn’t done or said??
February 1, 2023 at 9:32 am #254651Only moaning I’ve seen was over the Nelson/Dean thing which seems to have been resolved.
Plenty of trepidation though. Which is perhaps not surprising given what we got used to under the previous owner.
Just divorced Swann and now dating Hilton. Bound to be wary!

February 1, 2023 at 9:38 am #254653Saying I think Nelson had done enough to be given a shot at the job until the end of the season is not moaning, it’s having an opinion!

February 1, 2023 at 11:36 am #254662Jimmy will get my 100% support as will David Hilton, he has come in and told us how it is and what to expect instead of barging in and making wild promises that anyone with an ounce of intelligence could see was never going to happen.

February 1, 2023 at 11:59 am #254665Should be getting our first Jimmy interview soon I’m guessing, website only or Humberside scoop, wonder if they have been frozen out for reporting the story first after the Bromley game?
