Awful!!!
Thinks statistically we matched Barnet…. Not sure that counts for anything!
He Is confident that games against opposition like this won’t define the season…
Well guess what Jimmy, performances will and tonight was CRAP!!!We’ve been playing a lot better for the past few weeks without the luxury of a full squad.
Yes he needs time and he’ll make further changes but with that opportunity will come high expectations…. So as harsh as tonight’s criticism feels it’s just the start if we don’t see improvement!Nelson had 3,000 fans singing on Saturday because we got it down and played… tonight there was less noise from 5,000 because the football was shit!!!
Reference to Nelson opting for 5 in midfield was poor, this guy needs to get a grip and quick!!
He’s not managing a local park team anymore.February 4, 2023 at 12:11 am #255057Personally, I think he came in with a few days with the lads, tried something and it backfired. They haven’t had enough time with them or him them. A few weeks now to try and get them to play how he wants them to. And a bit of time for him to recognise if he needs to rethink his original ideas for them. In an ideal world…

February 4, 2023 at 8:20 am #255079Well, that ain’t gonna happen.
You were almost right, though – it’s actually me who needs the Spanish sunshine.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm #255125He was a bit wide of the mark with his assessment. Early days yet and with an experienced keeper score would’ve been close – almost certainly he is getting a keeper this week. If this team had played Nelson’s team the latter would’ve prevailed

February 4, 2023 at 2:17 pm #255126Definitely need an experienced keeper, will help with fosters development, have needed one for ages now..How many teams coming here have an eighteen old in goal.Too important position to be taken lightly, fosters time will come, hopefully we will not destroy another young keeper early in their career.

February 4, 2023 at 3:23 pm #255130There were 2 comments in particular which i found encouraging.
1. Just because weve got a big and nasty doesn
t mean that we have to hoof it up to him every time.
2. We showed plenty of aggression to get the ball back when we lost it but we have to learn to relax when we have got it back and use it more effectively.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 4, 2023 at 3:48 pm #255132Shame he didn’t stress number 1 to the players BEFORE the match.
(Maybe he didn’t think about it until he realised it hadn’t worked?)2 users thanked author for this post.

Not just that but the cover we have are 2 1st year academy players. One of whom is recovering from a dislocated thumb so care is needed for him.
February 5, 2023 at 1:33 pm #255167The Barnet manager brought up Foster in his post match interview (yt vid ).. commenting hes a young lad and how they wanted to target that n put extra pressure on him.. if the Barnet boss is doing that im sure others will be as well .. defo need another keeper the likes of Gilks would be nice.
Waiting to see how it goes re team selection and performance against DnR ..obviously still very early days though i would hope for an improvement on Friday nights efforts.
