Jem could be the player we have been missing for a while now, he has a calm head, directs and helps the younger players and allows beestin to get forward.
Today Grimsby only really looked like scoring in the last 10 minutes once he want off! We need to keep him fit so maybe he won’t play 90 mins every game but with him in the side we look so much better.January 23, 2021 at 8:22 pm #201623Think he will quickly become the key player in the team. Is he signed till the end of the season or is he on a longer contract?

January 27, 2021 at 10:36 am #201811No understatement that this guy will be the reason we stay up.
Just fantastic and not fully fit yet
January 27, 2021 at 10:48 am #201815What chance of keeping him do we think? Should those responsible already be working on a new, longer contract before other clubs recognise that he’s much better than L2. Get it done!!
January 27, 2021 at 12:44 pm #201830CT – absolutely we should be doing what we can to tie him down for another year, maybe they have the option. 5-6 more games and he will be doing the job of 2 holding midfielders
January 27, 2021 at 2:21 pm #201836He is a little gem
January 27, 2021 at 2:51 pm #201837Clever player and good character to probably have around the club.
Think once he’s fully fit he’ll bring even more.
Love the way he draws a tackle.January 27, 2021 at 3:41 pm #201842The pass by JEM over the head of Loft was precision. I think Ryan just needs to be looking forwards and the ball will be delivered in front of him.
The chasing back and tackling where he got a yellow card was real team play. Would like to see a bit more enthusiasm by his team mates saying thank you – helps build that group bond.
January 27, 2021 at 4:39 pm #201843That challenge would have made Jim Goodwin wince. Loved everything about it though.
Spence has been a good signing but Karacan clearly has that intelligence and quality which is not accustomed to league 2, has to be first name on the team sheet.
Good point on the pass too Sanfran- a fantastic assist.
January 28, 2021 at 8:36 am #201865He’s a great example of how you don’t need to run around like an idiot to be a really good midfielder. He clearly reads the game very shrewdly, watch how often the ball falls to him, he’s one step ahead of most other players.

January 28, 2021 at 10:26 am #201867I think Spence has a lot of the same qualities. Gets in good positions and reads things well. Karacan obviously does it better and has played at a much higher level but it could be really good for Spence.
Even if we don’t manage to keep Karacan (and I think he’ll be playing at a higher level next season unfortunately) we could benefit from what Spence hopefully learns from him.
January 28, 2021 at 10:33 am #201869Spence will benefit and so will Beestin who was able to drive forward a lot more to support the front 3 against Grimsby. Come on Swanny, try to get Karacan signed up for next 2 years with the captain’s arm band!!
January 28, 2021 at 7:18 pm #201887Huge influence already. And just listened to Neil Cox Humberside interview and he confirms huge affect off the field – letting players know what they have.

If it’s down to Swanny, don’t anyone hold their breath.
Out will come the excuses, and if at all possible it will be OUR fault.January 29, 2021 at 11:10 am #201910Alcy, I have to inform you that in the last few matches I’ve seen, there was a bloke called Karacan playing for the Iron in midfield. Do you think Swanny might have had anything to do with that?
