His mother and family were at one of the home games and when interviewed after the match they said how much Ivan was loving it here.

We could have signed him permanently but as usual the club dithered and Posh pulled the rug from under our feet on the last day of the transfer window. The same day Holmes left, so perhaps we were waiting for that deal to go through first.

Whatever the reason we missed out again but to say he didn’t want to be here, or was hounded out by “the worst fans in the country” is wrong.

Not only me said that, his first 2 or 3 games we’re very ordinary. Obviously he improved and showed everybody just what talent he had.
