Week left of the window but even if the chairman was prepared to throw 10 Bob in the kitty where would we spend it?
In today’s game Watson was excellent. Taft (his best performance for weeks) and O’Malley were adequate. The rest were shite.
Felt for young Burns just like I used to feel for young Scrimshaw. Work your arse off for 90 minutes without a decent pass coming your way.
I feel for Hill who is arguably the best manager since Adkins left the building.
As you have constantly reminded us morons for the last 8 years it’s your football club.
Hope your proud of yourself.

January 22, 2022 at 5:55 pm #230215What happens when someone borrows money is they have to repay it. Swann, after saying at a season ticket holders meeting, he would pay off the loan is now saying the opposite and can’t afford to pay it back. What would happen if this were the bank or building society and you couldn’t pay back a loan is that you would be re-possessed. So when this loan is called in I’m guessing the club will be put into administration. Is this why Swann is biding his time and he will walk away with the stadium, assets and land. He says he now he wants more investment and hints he would sell. Is this just another lie though. If not SWANN PUT THE CLUB UP FOR SALE AND SEE WHAT RESPONSE WE GET. SWANN GET GONE!!!!!!
January 22, 2022 at 5:56 pm #230216Swann said he would pay off the loan if necessary.
January 22, 2022 at 6:08 pm #230224Maybe we are not in such a bad position as we are thinking, there will be lots of cash when we start selling off the 160 appartments that are being built, does anyone know when the first batch will be completed, I haven’t been down to GP for over a year.

January 22, 2022 at 6:12 pm #230225…he also said we wouldn’t be relegated because he would do what was necessary to keep us up. Well Mr Swann you need to do it and do it NOW. Though I do appreciate we’ve had covid etc etc…

January 22, 2022 at 6:26 pm #230230A good job we didn’t start to build the new stadium.
We are weak all over the pitch, every teams players look stronger than us but if we get forward nobody will have a shot, don’t think the two loanees look as good as who they have replaced, why doesn’t he bring Beestin on, he probably kept us up last season with his goals.
But another disappointing performance and I am not looking at the points gap because we don’t look like scoring goals never mind winning.

January 22, 2022 at 6:30 pm #230232Dead right Mick, it’s not about when we win a game any more, more like when will we score a goal? Sadly, I think we’re gonners, I hope I am wrong.

January 22, 2022 at 6:39 pm #230235Isn’t Beestin a victim of long covid?, even so he’s on the bench for a reason so presumably can come on and do something during a game.

January 22, 2022 at 7:52 pm #230245I would have brought Beestin and Hallam on last 20 minutes.
Also I think when we had crap sides in 70s they would have beat our current shower, and certainly won more games.

8 be built on.
Maybe it’s worse as Coolsilk, not SUFC, own the land the apartments will* be built on.* Could, may, building to start later this year, next year, next decade.

Not so sure now. If Beestin isn’t a long covid sufferer and he can’t get on the pitch in the place of the shower that are currently playing, then Hill needs a kick up the arse end.
I’ve been wanting Perry to play but after today’s evidence I rather he fucked off because that was ridiculous. I’d rather Hallam played in that role. If that was Perry’s best personal effort to keep the club up, he needs to move on and we need a better player in.
Make matters even worse, Bunn is out with what looks like a long term injury according to Hill post match.
January 22, 2022 at 10:02 pm #230263Of course this is Swann’s Scunthorpe United. We have to guess what is going on with the players and their health and fitness.
Perry has been nowhere to be seen for weeks and then he suddenly appears. The German is nowhere to be seen for a year then he suddenly appeared last week and then disappears again. Where is Kenyon? Where was Jarvis today? Hallam turned up today for his regulation 10 minute appearance as he does every couple of months.
What the feck happened to Millen that meant we sign an unfit teenager to replace him.
If you ran a Sunday league side like this you would expect and deserve criticism. I am fucking devastated with the shambles the fat controller has turned my football club into.

January 22, 2022 at 10:09 pm #230268That young lad from Wolves looks pretty poor, I’d rather we had Millen there. Has this lad really improved on Millen ?

January 22, 2022 at 10:46 pm #230273Jarvis was injured according to Humberside pre match, Perry was awful today but it’s his first game in ages plus he’s not even been on the bench but he clearly isn’t fit and is big time match rusty. Didn’t understand his selection today particularly with Beeston bench warming, there is such a lot wrong with our club both on and off the pitch.

I dont need a personal call and in any case my issue is with you and your old man, not with the manager.

It’s a football forum ffs.
Team selection has always been and always will be one of the most popular topics to comment on.
What would your preferred lineup have been?

January 23, 2022 at 12:50 am #230287Beeston bench warming
I’ve said before that if Beestin is fit enough for the bench then he should be starting. I don’t think Hill is keen on him, I don’t think he runs around enough for Keith.
Only thing is that Hill needs to understand is the fact Beestin is arguably our best CM and is the only one capable of breaking forward to help whoever it is upfront. Also can finish as we’ve seen before.
Hill appears to be prioritising running ability above all else…which worries me slightly.

January 23, 2022 at 11:26 am #230302Your so wrong about building a new ground Mick whoever owned it, it wouldn’t be under discussion about turning it into housing being a new ground. The cods owners have put a new ground on the back burner for a least 5 years making their existence less secure, so much easier to let the club fold than if you had just built a new ground, with a debt that would be on the owner (swanny in our case) that would have consequences and an incentive to keep the club going which he doesn’t have now.
January 23, 2022 at 12:14 pm #230313Your absolutely right Wondergoals. If Beeston is on the bench he must be fit to play. He should have been first choice over Perry or Pugh yesterday. Beeston has always given 100 per cent when he has played. Then not to even bring him on as sub I cannot understand. I also was looking forward to Perry returning but he cannot play him on Tuesday after that performance. The worst thing about him is he thinks it’s OK to stand with the ball far too long and let the opposition take it from him, he did that again yesterday. Also we all know that Beeston has a good shot in him and is very competitive. Can’t understand why he’s noy playing. Then Wood was brought on before him and I don’t know shy we haven’t sent Wood back to Hull.

January 23, 2022 at 12:16 pm #230314Sorry about thspelling error, “don’t know WHY”.
January 23, 2022 at 3:17 pm #230338Looks like Beestin is being frozen out. I don’t know what’s gone on behind the scenes but it appears Hill doesn’t like him.
Beestin seems to be well down the pecking order.

January 23, 2022 at 5:57 pm #230345If that’s the case about Beestin WG then Hill has changed his tune from his first month here. Didn’t he say he rated Beestin and thought there could be a Championship player in there somewhere, or was that just something put about by a member of the forum ( not me I hasten to add ). It does seem strange why he just bench warms and never gets on, he’s deffo one of our best midfielders when fit.
January 23, 2022 at 8:53 pm #230349Well Hallam came on yesterday with no Beestin getting a look in and Perry played ahead of Beestin, despite not playing a 1st team match in 6 weeks so no way he could have been fit.
Would Perry have been more match fit than Beestin ?
I find it odd how he’s our best CM player who happens to be the only one who’s capable of breaking forward to help the forward players out and doesn’t even get any minutes.
You surely would have thought where we are as a club that he’d be one of the 1st names on the teamsheet which leads me to think that either something has happened behind the scenes or another club is maybe interested in him and Swann wants to cash in.
What other reason would there be ?
If perry can start with not having action for 6 weeks, how can he be deemed match fit enough to not only get minutes but start and yet Beestin somehow isn’t deemed fit enough ?
If Beestin was so unfit he wouldn’t be on the bench would he ?
I find it all a bit odd.

January 23, 2022 at 9:52 pm #230350All questions we can’t answer WG and as you say, odd.
January 23, 2022 at 9:57 pm #230351I know we’re not able to answer those questions regarding Beestin but it just annoys me that where we are as a club that much worse players are being favoured ahead of him.
Pisses me right off !
The lack of communication is winding me up as well, where the hell is Kenyon ?
