Surely Gareth’s position on the podcast has become untenable due to the magnitude of his betrayal regarding this FC1000000 nightmare?
They can’t be taken seriously until he resigns, if they ever were in the first place. One man’s ego again…
March 24, 2025 at 12:24 pm #300424‘if’?
March 24, 2025 at 1:09 pm #300442Backhander?
March 24, 2025 at 1:52 pm #300453No fan of Gareth / Iron Hour but some of the personal abuse I’ve seen is inexcusable.
March 24, 2025 at 1:54 pm #300456Must have missed it, what’s his link to this FC100 fiasco?

He fronted up the Club’s video announcing the FC100000 deal (filmed last week).

March 24, 2025 at 2:07 pm #300461Need to grow a thicker skin Deerey, if said video gets out and there narrative that doesn’t ring right with other fans, a bit of written abuse will probably the least of his worries.
March 24, 2025 at 2:28 pm #300470Nothing to do with growing thicker skin Awaywego. Some of the abuse crosses the line IMO, and is inexcusable. And cowardly. Simple as that. Still, gets those bandying it around brownie points with their peers I suppose.
March 24, 2025 at 2:39 pm #300475One or two characters on social media turned up their abuse to Zanetti-on-the-mic volume.

March 24, 2025 at 2:53 pm #300478What ever happened to being rightly critical without resorting to dogs abuse? Whatever Gareth has done, I don’t think he deserves the worst of the stuff

Link(s)?
March 24, 2025 at 3:51 pm #300490The nature of social media. Yesterday riled people and their emotions were taken out on others. There will be some who will now give Gareth stick over this, but it will blow over for some. Gareth hasn’t helped himself by engaging in it secretly without the others in his podcast knowing. They have taken some flak too even though they did nothing, while Becky and Barra were quite vocally against it.
March 24, 2025 at 4:01 pm #300492I think Gareth might have got misled
He’s Scunny through and through

March 24, 2025 at 4:08 pm #300494A good bloke and very genuine, he has made a mistake and I will tell him so when I see him.
We will then shake hands (hopefully) and draw a line under it.
Keep up the good work Gareth.
March 24, 2025 at 5:43 pm #300514Hopefully when he posts the video for all to see maybe fans can get past it.
March 24, 2025 at 6:04 pm #300519He has form
March 24, 2025 at 6:39 pm #300521Sounds like he’s made a mistake.
Unless there evidence out there on the contrary, I’ve always found him a genuine bloke with the club’s interests at heart.
March 24, 2025 at 7:45 pm #300538Sounds like the whole board made a mistake by being secretive, think people should give Gareth the benefit of the doubt, as CBRP says he seems a genuine guy who love’s the Iron as we all do.
March 24, 2025 at 7:50 pm #300540I do think quite a fair point has been made on Gareth’s statement thread on Facebook, in amongst all the love-in. He got one day of what some people had to endure for much longer during Hilton’s tenure due to his and his podcast’s “dog-whistling” etc about Iron Bru. I’m sure if those responsible for the worst of what he’s had to put up with in the last 24 hours fail to apologise or don’t attempt to make it right somehow, just brushing past it smugly, Gareth and any others offended or on the receiving end will be fine with that?
March 24, 2025 at 8:04 pm #300543Don’t think the unity funding group given the benefit of doubt, and most of us have the best interests of the club at heart and are scunny through and through and being critical of things doesn’t change it.

There were concerning red flags there about abuse of money, though, and so people were probably right to question. As a result they seem to have got their house a little more in order, but I haven’t been paying that much attention.

They were quiet when the news came out, thought they might follow when the Iron Trust led.
Anyway enough of this bollox, hopefully win a cup down the road tommorow and another 3 points Saturday
March 25, 2025 at 6:31 am #300561So, did someone at the club ask Gareth to be ‘camera man’?

No hate from meSame here .. i reckon he was sold a pup n fed a loadof BS which got him into this pickle .. seems like a proper nice bloke nary a sinister thought towards SUFC ..he loves the club thats plain to see.
Like his YT vlogs all be it a tad repetitive.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 25, 2025 at 9:07 am #300576Gareth’s videos are a bit boring, but I really appreciate that he is doing them and has the passion to do them. No-one can fault that.
In general with the Iron Hour crew it seems to me that there’s very little self-awareness. Not all of them, it has to be said, but certainly a couple of them. Particularly over last night’s ‘forgive Gareth’ campaign thread on the Facebook group. Double standards, lack of accountability.

I never bother with the Iron Hour podcast .. not my cuppa tea

I did try listening once but I couldn’t bear it (Max Bell).
March 25, 2025 at 9:33 am #300581For many reasons I’m not on Facebook or X (I mean if you’re still on there after Musk started doing Nazi salutes then you’re never coming off).
But one of the reasons is that you are sharing a social space with literally every person who’s got sufficient reading ability and a smart phone to create a login. If once you’re on there and someone whose views you disagree with starts disagreeing with you or being threatening or aggressive then you need a thick enough skin to take it or don’t go on there in the first place.
Personally I wouldn’t cope so I keep out in the same way there might be certain pubs I wouldn’t go in.
Gareth does his videos and uses X and Facebook to promote them so he’s sailing his boat on the Cess Pit Sea and can’t be surprised if a few sharks jump out when he makes a mistake.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 25, 2025 at 9:40 am #300584The galling thing is that Gareth, by association with Iron Hour, was a cheerleader for some of the dog’s abuse directed at Iron Bru personnel during the Hilton era. Despite being proved wrong, none of them have said a conciliatory word. Now that he’s been (briefly) on the receiving end of some awful comments himself, you’d have thought the penny would drop about his (their) own conduct. But still no empathy, awareness, contrition etc. Seemingly the opposite, including a comment from one of his Iron Hour cohorts in particular last night on Facebook. Very very disappointing to see.
March 25, 2025 at 10:13 am #300591No surprise football violence still exists when fans of the same club can’t get on without media threats.
