Two from the NL, probably the best level we’re likely to attract.

Ah some actual football news, nice one. Welcome guys, don’t know a thing about you apart from the website info but the very best of luck playing for the Iron next season, let’s hope it’s a successful one.

A league above where we will be playing? Sounds about right.

God knows if they’ll be any good but the experience of the last 5 years or more suggests that it’s unlikely!

I mentally switched off long before the Eastleigh game so can’t remember how either played.

Eastleigh fans disappointed they are going and reading some good things online about both.

    Promising start.

The fact that they are both pictured inside Glanford Park and signing early well before end of contract in June surely bodes well? It’s always been a mess the last few years making signings just as the season is starting and those who are struggling for fitness, consistency or both.

Completely agree SBB, early signings equals good news IMO.

You should remember Whitehall, he was the one diving about to win the penalty and took it, should be a good signing, looked a handful in that game.

To be honest a couple of signings of decent National League players I wouldn’t have expected if we were going to play at Quibel Park etc.

Technically the players have not signed because their registrations can’t be transferred and registered with the League until July. What exists will be a pre contract agreement between the club and player. Therefore today’s announcement does not nullify the rumour.

I have heard Mark Ives speak at length on the subject of transfer embargoes. Although I have no confidence in Ives, it is my understanding that HMRC share information with the National League on clubs to confirm payments relating to VAT & PAYE are up to date. Also defaults on football related liabilities between clubs will lead to an embargo. In reality I am not sure the club’s pension provider is in any position to share information on potential defaults which would result in a transfer embargo. I might be wrong.

Well a simple way of clarifying it would be for someone to ask the owner or Lee on Wednesday night.

I remember Whitehall twas my grandson giving him the finger, Eastleigh put up a tictok video up of him, “someone come and collect your child” suppose he will be my grandsons hero now that’s football for you.

Shouldn’t be a problem, I’m sure your grandson can change the finger to a thumb when Whitehall bags a hat trick on the opening day of the new season 👍

After a bit of delving watched a few clips Whitehall seems a decent signing , a handful that will score goals (remember one of them cast your mind back)also the fact many EFC fans were hoping he was retained n stayed bodes well … nice to get some new faces in early lets hope it continues.
Will try n find details on Kelly today, again well though of at the Spitfires.

Huge club n fan base errmmmmmm really ??

Nice to get back to some football talk…fingers crossed all goes well at the forum n issues can get clarified then the deal sorted on or before 24th May.

Fully expected you to be upset about the slightest suggestion of positive news coming out of GP, but give the lads a chance eh?

i presume these two swift signings are JDs choices ???? ..hope so as hopefully will the next few , at least then hes getting his chance to full fill Mr Hiltons job requirements on his own merit .. hey imagine if his signings and football turn out to be a huge success what will all the JD out party whinge at then … of course he may also fail miserably ..but really hope thats not the case 10 games into the season.

It could take years to undo all the damage caused by Swann. But if we start by addressing the problems on the pitch, then I’ll be happy with that.

It’s been a long time coming, and I still can’t believe how far we have been allowed to fall…
