You’re right but we need strikers in and with money thin on the ground I find it extremely odd why we haven’t brought anybody in before now to have a proper look at.
I see that Tom Elliot who we were interested in 2 or 3 seasons ago is out of contract, not that old either at 31yrs of age. I suspect with our wage budget we’ve got more chance in signing Billy Elliot.
July 13, 2022 at 3:42 am #240477Yes. Isn’t he the guy who used to score goals?
July 13, 2022 at 7:12 am #240482Give the U18 kid a runout on Saturday.
3 in a single game last Saturday.
How many did our top scorer notch in a season last year?
Speculate to accumulate.Wasn’t our top scorer OG last season?
July 13, 2022 at 7:37 am #240483Oggy is really gifted when it’s about putting them into the old onion bag.
He’s been around a while. Oggy, oggy, oggy!July 13, 2022 at 10:49 am #240507Just had a check on the OWS, it shows we currently have 9 players who, at a stretch, could be classed as experienced. 4 of those have “fitness issues”.
Now up to 10 ‘experienced’but 5 with fitness issues. Still some way to go, the latest names mentioned would put us at 11 and 6 so we’d still be struggling to put out a competitive 11.
July 13, 2022 at 11:06 am #240511Without goal-scoring forwards ‘competitive’ is a meaningless word for us.
July 13, 2022 at 12:31 pm #240514When you are hungry for strikers I’m afraid you’re on fifth sitting in the National League.
It’s going to be either uncooked teenagers or grizzled old timers who’s legs have gone.
Unless you have an ambitious owner who will splash the cash to bring in a Paddy Madden or two.
That ship sailed long ago.
July 13, 2022 at 12:47 pm #240518Sam Winnall still a free agent.
July 13, 2022 at 12:58 pm #240519Sam Winnall still a free agent.
A big drop for him and a high wage expected? 5 goals in his last season for Oxford not great but at our level could smash it. At 31 he’s presumably looking for those last big pay days I guess? Would rule us out.
July 13, 2022 at 1:29 pm #240520Unless he’s completely lost his way or turned to shite ,maybe injury prone now, Winnall should still be good enough to be a top league two striker, if he ends up here I fear the worst.
July 13, 2022 at 1:41 pm #240525Yes. Isn’t he the guy who used to score goals?
Yes, granted he’s not pulled up any trees of late he’s still of a decent pedigree and is at a good age as well.
July 13, 2022 at 5:42 pm #240550Another one signed, Mr versatile Colin Daniel 34 years young and can play anywhere down the left.
July 13, 2022 at 5:53 pm #240551Loads of league experience, and another who can play left back, no mention of Bugs Bunny though.
July 13, 2022 at 6:08 pm #240552Is Keef developing a bit of a fetish for left backs?
Right back and up front looking a bit light.

July 13, 2022 at 6:20 pm #240553Very experienced ✓
Sounds a proper utility player ✓
Can he stay fit for long enough 🤞
Hope you prove to be a real asset Colin, best of luck and help whip those youngsters into shape.July 13, 2022 at 6:22 pm #240554Actually this doesn’t look like a bad signing!
Mildly encouraged.
July 13, 2022 at 6:46 pm #240556All in all given our recent trials and tribulations this week is encouraging, three in one with bags of experience in Colin Daniel and another in Jacob butterfield that would give us more experience if his trial works out thumbs up to the club this week.
July 13, 2022 at 7:50 pm #240560It seems odd with these left sided players but only thing I can think of is Bunney will be maybe signed with a view to play off a striker in the no 10 as more of a link player and Nthle may have been signed more as a CB.
Bunney has definitely played there and Lewis is really a LW by trade.
Isn’t that young lad we had on trial Peplow who Hill liked the look of also a left sided player ?
July 13, 2022 at 7:56 pm #240562Wouldn’t Bunny have signed by now if he was wanted, he’s been here probably the longest of any other trialist so far. Certainly longer than Daniel unless Keith has been chasing Daniel for awhile and was just waiting to get him in and check his fitness?

Bunney might be here for longest because he may have been the shortest of fitness. Hill may want to judge whether he’s got anything to add once he feels he’s fully fit, either that or maybe has decided he hasn’t got it in him anymore to contribute.
Peplow who Hill said he liked the look of was definitely a left sided player but he rolled his ankle. Peplow’s injury may have been a lot worse than first anticipated so maybe he’s been let go.
Who knows ?
July 13, 2022 at 11:34 pm #240576Like usual, you need to be wrong wondergoals because if hill is wanting to sign bunny as a forward we are absolutely f***ed
We are desperate for good forward players and we’ve signed none!!
Season just a couple of weeks away… hello to shite attendances (sub 2000) and there’s one man to blame!!!
F**k Off Peter Swann!!!1 user thanked author for this post.
