…..everything is permissible.
The secular society has finally grasped their belief there is nothing after death.
Without God ,they can do whatever they want .The only result will be totalitarianism and complete misery and chaos for the masses.
But however hard they try to succeed there will be only one winner.
Are you on the winning team?
You know how to get on the winning team!
There is only one mediator between God and Man-JESUS CHRIST.June 22, 2022 at 1:21 am #239212I think we should look to Afghanistan to see how much freedom and love for others we can get with religion. :-)
June 22, 2022 at 9:46 am #239217Au contraire, Rodney!
The religious believe THEY can do whatever they want, and as long as they say “sorry” on their deathbed everything is hunky dory.
There’s nothing more totalitarian than religion.
June 22, 2022 at 9:57 am #239218That’s why genuine Christians find ‘religion’ so hard to stomach, Siderite.
I have had a living, vibrant relationship with Jesus since Easter 1973. He is an absolute reality in my life. With my Saviour, I have no need of religion.
(The more Christianity plays with ‘religion’ instead of relationship with the Christ – the worse it gets.)
The thing is – not a single person can gainsay my life experience so the tendency of many is to resort to insult. Nobody but nobody can gainsay my valid experiences.
The Bible says ‘Seek and you will find.’ That implies a deep and totally honest search, of course. I have met exceedingly few who have made that honest attempt and failed to find My Saviour.
I know many churchgoers – and frankly, I have little idea why they bother.
I know many Christians, however, who live the life and walk the walk.
They are the most exciting bunch I’ve ever encountered. Their reality dovetails into the reality my wife and I have consistently experienced.
Churchgoers are one thing and Christians another. Happily, there is often overlap – but not always.1 user thanked author for this post.
June 22, 2022 at 11:42 am #239222Christianity is a religion. All Christians are religious. Some may not buy into the organised version, which is where the major problems lie, but they still have a religion.

June 22, 2022 at 11:56 am #239224Many people have vibrant relationships with figments of their imagination, some racier than others! Oops, there goes another mock!
June 24, 2022 at 5:17 pm #239355“The religious believe THEY can do whatever they want and as long as they say “sorry” on their deathbed everything is hunky dory”.(NI POST)
The Christian doesn’t believe in antinomianism nor the other extreme legalism, but faith in Jesus Christ.
Lesgeo and JI hopefully if they read this would fully endorse this post and find the comment by NI a misunderstanding of the Christian faith.June 24, 2022 at 5:26 pm #239356A bit like misunderstanding the plot of Cymbeline then?
Thing is, if you don’t believe any of it then it just sounds like a book-club meeting.
June 24, 2022 at 6:03 pm #239357Just stumbled on this thread .. still not sure how…. non football?
Very encouraging post lesgeo. (cue the Gurney guy who only seems to appear to call me Les and claim we are doppelgangers)
I didn’t pick up in the past that you had a strong faith. My wife and I have equally struggled in formal/religious settings but join regularly with others in homes to worship and play our ‘history shaping’ part in prayer/intercession. I have had the pleasure of meeting BPG in recent months. Would love to do the same with you.June 24, 2022 at 6:20 pm #239358Non football has reopened JI. You can access via ‘forums’ but not a main menu option at present.

June 24, 2022 at 11:10 pm #239380Thanks, Deerey. A bit slow on the uptake but have worked it out now.
September 28, 2022 at 12:32 pm #245678Just looking back at this ,Lesgeo replied with a post June 22 9.57am.
JustIron “ thanked author for this post”- he does this very sparingly so must have been impressed.
Lesgeo stated “with my Saviour,I have no need for religion..(the more Christianity plays with “religion”instead of relationship with the Christ-the worse it gets.)
I totally agree the regenerate/ reborn Christian does have a personal relationship with Christ.
The phrase “the more Christianity plays with “religion” is something I’m confused with. What exactly does this line actually mean, in Lesgeo’s understanding of the words he typed? JustIron must understand ( more than I do!)that the line made sense.
Can either of you explain? -
