Strange selling your top striker to a fellow relegation struggler in the first place.
But who has sold him? The local consortium or Ernest Pawn? If its the former I would be interested in why.
If its the latter where is the money going, back into the club ready for December wages? Or into SlinkyLooks coffers? Does that move undermine or even scupper any sale of the club?
Will there ever be a sale? Or is the Pawn driving us to liquidation for his own ill-gotten gain? Turning into a right Scooby doo saga.

December 9, 2022 at 4:36 pm #250221December 9, 2022 at 5:31 pm #250222I thought all such transactions (player sales or acquisitions) were frozen whilst any takeover is going through?
I agree with the OP, smell a rat here if it’s true.3 users thanked author for this post.

December 9, 2022 at 6:58 pm #250239Sorry Ironking just posted something similar on the Nuttall thread didn’t read yours first.

December 10, 2022 at 4:07 am #250269We all knew when Ernest uttered the words …..”I want to be a responsible seller” that he would be anything but.
I am afraid it’s goodbye to the Iron, and NCEL as FC Scunthorpe United here we come.
December 10, 2022 at 4:58 am #250270its ok LT coming out and saying its beneficial for all parties .. please explain ?? with a takeover going through the whole quick and silent deal reeks of sh8t and definately more to this than is being told.. im guessing the doe for Nuttal went straight into Swans bank account never to be seen again.
Apter will leave in Jan .. more surely … SUFC is still in a state of limbo with little or no information forthcoming on current or future plans.
DOOMED

December 10, 2022 at 9:07 am #250276Well we should know today whether Swann pocketed the transfer money, surely Ian and Simon will walk if he did, seen as they paid the wages last month, if they didn’t they wouldn’t have any respect from the fans, I take it they were fully behind the sale of Nuttall I can see nothing else that shows otherwise. Unless!
December 10, 2022 at 10:16 am #250283They don’t own the club yet and Joe got a better offer. Next.

December 10, 2022 at 11:07 am #250293Was Joe told if you don’t go now there is no club sale, it goes tits up and you’ve no job anyway? Conspiracy theory but a possibility methinks 🤔
December 10, 2022 at 11:27 am #250294It would seem strange to pay a players wages to then have no cut of any transfer fee

December 10, 2022 at 2:03 pm #250303Wouldn’t it be nice to have a statement from the prospective new owners? When you go to buy something Deerey you buy what’s on show at that moment in time, not when the owner takes the extras off.
December 10, 2022 at 2:49 pm #250322Hard to make a statement as a prospective new owner when Mr Sensitive is the seller, he’s only waiting for an excuse to change his mind again IMO.

December 10, 2022 at 7:03 pm #250353We’re talking scunny here bottom of the NL, more a buyers market than a seller’s, we all know he’s lucky to have any credible bid on the table at all,(taking it for granted it is).
December 10, 2022 at 9:36 pm #250361Once again it’s the old ” is he really fussed about selling when he may be thinking long term considerations to claw back his money “. Time will tell.

The club he turned down a couple of months back?
December 13, 2022 at 9:27 am #250494If you had chance of a three year deal which means financial security for that period or stay at a club with a big question mark over its future which would you choose CMC? If the offer was improved on the original one, which appears to be the case, then it’s a no brainer. He’s made the right choice for him and that’s how it should be. It’s always about the money particularly at lower league level, all this badge kissing bullshit is for the mega rich superstars who have money to burn, it means nowt anyway. Loyalty is only as good as the next fat pay check somewhere down the road. Good luck to Joe.

December 13, 2022 at 11:26 am #250506Talking sense IA. I don’t blame him one bit for looking after his interests … nor the club for making the best of it.

Strange how(and the player)can go from turning down an offer to leaving suddenly…
December 13, 2022 at 4:21 pm #250544There appears to be too much mistrust by Iron-Bru members, surely our club owner of about nine years deserves more respect from you all.
Peter has attempted to build you all two new stadiums, he allowed the club to sink into a debt of about £13 million pounds in order to try and gain us Championship football, and you have thanked him by only about 2,000 of you turning up at games after 2,500 of you have deserted our little club, and only about e1,800 of you bought season tickets this season to watch a good few new teams that you have never seen before.
The way you so called supporters have deserted our club after Peter has gone out of his way to bring entertaining attacking footy for you to watch, and all a lot of you do is moan and slag him off, if I was Peter I would justd say why am I bothering to please these ungreatful people when all they do is complain at all my hard work I have done for them!!!!!No wonder he is leaving SUFC, and as Peter said to fans when he arrived at Scuuny, I WILL LEAVE THE CLUB IN A BETTER STATE THAN WHEN I ARRIVED!! SOME OF YOU ARE EVEN SUGGESTING THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE!!!!

Not strange one bit, it’s called reading posts and absorbing their content in an objective way. Moving on ( as Joe has already done ).
December 13, 2022 at 6:29 pm #250552Peter Swann – there’s something of the night about him.

December 20, 2022 at 10:02 am #250703The non-sale saga continues! From a done deal to nothing, so what is the stumbling block?
As if we cannot guess.

December 20, 2022 at 10:28 am #250705They can’t come up with the money? Always down to the money.
December 20, 2022 at 11:18 am #250710Your right about it being all about the money Awaywego and it’s also right about the valuation that comes to a sensible figure for what you are selling. I’ve heard it’s been for awhile that it’s 6 million for a fan backed consortium bid which is what the current prospective buyers are. Do we consider that fair or overpriced and how has that figure come about 🤔
