“Hull City confirm the season-long loan deal for Bristol City & former Scunthorpe United winger Hakeeb Adelakun. #hcafc”

Be good to get the lad playing again, hope he does well.

Think we were hoping that when he went to BCFC ‘tash.

Bit of an enigma is our Hakeeb!

Don’t think Hakeeb got over his bad ankle injury that occurred very early in his BCFC career, I know he went on loan to Rotherham at some stage last season but I guess he’s struggling for fitness and form as a result of that injury. Grant and Cliff could well do a very good job with him at Hull, exciting player when fit and on form.

14 games since he left. What a waste, yes being earning the money but he always said “He just wanted to play”. Hope it works out.

My nephew is a Rotherham supporter and said haks was just beginning to show some real form before the shut down of the last season.
Hopefully if he gets a full season at hull he can rebuild his career and finally show the talent he undoubtedly has upto now we have only seen this talent occasionally

I always find it difficult to cope with players who have superb skills but only show them when the moon is in the right quarter.
I stated on here a couple of years ago that if you averaged a mark out of 10 for every game he played for – us, his average would struggle to make a 5. There were just so many 4 out of 10s. It is too easy to only remember the outstanding stuff.
Getting the fee we did was daylight robbery.
That handful of 9s which had us all so excited and saying things like “I really think the lad has turned a corner now” happened three+ times a season over a number of years.
Remember the George Kerr opinion expressed on Humberside.

Moments of brilliance from Hakeeb were up there with the best I’ve seen from any former Iron greats.

Sadly he still has the same agent !!

For me just like Josh Wright he moved a season too early, but it wasn’t down to him.

    Certainly did.

He’d just turned 22 when he left. Nobbut a lad, and that was after a season of 49 appearances and the club in league 1 playoffs.

He needs a manager with the talent to handle talent.

He’s had 4 clubs & more managers. Perhaps he isn’t good enough. He certainly isn’t on a regular basis.

He’s had too many managers – about 7 at GP alone before he was 22! Not good for a talented young player.

It’s the managers fault that he can’t put in consistent performances?

    How do others manage it?

He can be excellent but, as Les highlighted, over all he is below average.

A teenage black lad from inner-city London trying to find his way in north Lincs. needs consistency from someone with the talent to manage his.

Unfortunately, he didn’t get it here, and from age 16 he’s had about 9 managers in 8 years, most of whom were struggling themselves. Plus, some ‘fans’ were quick to get on his back when he did make a mistake.

Not good, especially in the early years – as any teacher knows.

Just turned 24, he still has great potential which McCann has evidently seen and can bring out at Hull.

The teaching comparison is a sound one.
For all the years I taught – it was odd. Of course I enjoyed the high achievers who were born naturals but I always got far more out of those who were not very academic but achieved success by desire and effort.
I think of one pupil who had precious little about him and who was heading for nowhere – fast – as the GCSEs were approaching.
I enlisted his family to give him support and I worked very hard to see him through to a ‘C’ grade in my subject. To my delight – and astonishment, he ended up with 7 passes in total.
He went to college and then to two universities, in his chosen career, he is a fellow with two Masters degrees and skills to die for.

The worst to teach were those who had the ability but just couldn’t be arsed. If there is one thing that gets me down it’s people who waste their talents.

West Ham let him go from their academy and they helped him move by cancelling his academy paperwork and we took it over.

You need to have a chat with his agent before blaming managerial changes.

Second top, and there’s a long way to go yet. He looked good today and took his goal well, tired later on and faded before been subbed.
