will the announcement be that Iron Bru is a nuisance etc ,then when all the noise ,death threats etc are happening an announcement whispered? with the facebook puppets briefed to say how sensible it all is and “shut up he saved our club”?

i warned of this but nobody took any notice. i understand why as you all wanted to believe in the rainbows and butterflies of a happy ending but we are doomed an it breaks me heart to see sufc in such a shoddy state
today is a pivotal day in sufcs future and hillton has been found wanting .

Whatever happens today, the important thing is that we are all SUFC fans. I know there has been a lot of tension lately, and the temptation to say “I told you so” will be great. Especially after so many on the Facebook group, twitter and on here lambasted anyone for so much as being cautious about Hilton. It wasn’t nice how so many just insulted others and accused them of not being true fans, while ignoring red flag after red flag. However, we won’t find a way to come together if we escalate it. I don’t know what the future is, but if worst comes to the worst, we may have to form a phoenix club. If that happens we want to have the fans united and on board, otherwise we’ll be like Bury, bickering for years. Even if this does not lead to the end, we need to be united and not just slam anyone for criticising the owner.

That said, I do think those who have attacked and lambasted others for scepticism* need to look at themselves in the mirror and climb down from their high horses about how much of a superior fan they are.

*I am aware some went overboard, but reasoned critique was often included or not singled out from such criticism of critics.

Totally agree. ‘Told you so’ comments are not going to help anyone in any way. As I said to JI yesterday, I don’t think anyone should be made to eat humble pie, wherever they stand on all this. Particularly Patrick’s pies….

Why would cash be a problem when supporters have been frequently told it isn’t an issue? When we’ve been told it’s not the reason the stadium deal has not been completed? When supporters have banged on about having seen proof of funds and put down and ridiculed others who’ve been critical? I ask because something’s not adding up. Fair point, I believe.

I only know of one supporter who has publicly claimed to have seen proof of funds and that is Simon Elliott, who is conspicuous by his absence.
There may be others who claim to have seen them but I’m not aware of any.
