Grimsby fast approaching 2,000 and keeping fans in the loop through social media (not begging for sales every day)
I’d love to know how many we’ve sold???
IMO a lack of sales will be a direct result of how badly this club has been run and how the enjoyment of watching our team has been smash to pieces.

July 5, 2021 at 7:30 pm #209763Might as well ask how many forwards are we planning on signing? Rather like the season ticket tally, the answer is blowing in the wind. ( great song Bob 😎 )

July 6, 2021 at 12:56 am #209769Sharp-shooter, After speaking to four of the fans that have sat more or less in a small area near me, all of whome have given up on the club and the way it has been operated during the past three seasons, I am led to believe that ever present supporter Sanfran has also had enough, so it will probably be between 250 and 300, instead of the normal this stage of the year when 1,200 to 1,400 have been sold.
My son that lives in Derby has been talking to the pair of Scunny fans that also live in Derby, and those have not missed an home or away match in over 12 years, they have also had more than their share of the way Scunthorpe play these days and will like myself turn up to see just an odd match, I have supported Scunny for 70 years, a season ticket holder for the past 12 years, missing just one home game during that time (when I had left my ticket at home after sitting on the car park for an hour), so if fans like ourselves have finished, I would suspect many, many more will not be in their normal seats.
What really finished me was when Mr Swann informed supporters out of the blue, “that his company have taken ownership of the football ground, car park and training field land”, along with the system that Cox plays, defensive unenjoyable boring rubbish, and the off loading of the decent players and keeping what is left, playing under Coxes tactics, what a thought.
But Mr Swann did tell Radio Humberside that we have a good squad of young players, and it will be interesting seeing how Cox developes them over the next three seasons!!, I am sorry Peter, but at the age of 80, three years sitting in the Cluggy does not appeal to me, even though he said that he wants fans to stick with the team, and keep turning up!!!!!!!!!!!

July 6, 2021 at 7:20 am #209770Sales ate clearly dire otherwise you would use the data to generate more interest. I can see our attendances being low compared to others and Cox with his tactics and no decent strikers in the club coupled with the chairman’s view that this young squad will be great 3 years into a 1 year contract just makes this club more of a laughing stock.
Morecambe sold over 1000 so would be interesting to see where we are compared to them

July 6, 2021 at 7:33 am #209771My father has been going since the 60’s he’s had enough and not sure whether he will bother. Another father and son won’t bother neither.
Plus me just don’t see anything to tempt me to waste an afternoon or the money.
I never had a season ticket but went to as many games as possible. Can see the first home gate being the lowest in decades.
July 6, 2021 at 8:44 am #209773Believe it or not, I think as many people as possible dhould buy season tickets😲
Otherwise, next season when there’s no money, no decent players, no exciting football, and above all, no success, guess whose fault it will all be?
Hint: their will be NO mention of anyone from the Swann family😠
July 6, 2021 at 9:26 am #209775The Morecambe comparison on season tickets will be interesting when stacked up alongside town population, Morecambes population is less then half of Scunthorpe and although they live in a more densely populated area of the country then us we don’t have three of the most successful clubs in football history on our doorstep plus a host of other larger towns with bigger football clubs. However I hear Morecambe play half decent footy and they have just got promoted, good luck to them.
July 6, 2021 at 10:32 am #209778Morecambe were promoted on the back of a playoff final win. So the comparison isn’t a good one.
Barrow would be a better yardstick.
The way the Cods have gone about keeping the fans onside after relegation to Non League is worthy of note too.

Keeping the fans onside, an interesting concept indeed. Could we try that here now or will we have to wait until the following season.
July 6, 2021 at 12:44 pm #209794I think the fans will be to blame no matter what, when the COVID train finally runs out of steam
I agree that Morecambe isn’t the best example I just happened across their ticket sales and how they discount the tickets the more they sell and thought that is so far away from our set up.

July 6, 2021 at 1:37 pm #209803I have not renewed my season ticket and the sales must be near the worst ever recorded.
This is solely the responsibility of Mr Peter Swann.
