Sorry but people moan about Swann but how much longer does this man get, between them they are making us an utter disgrace and a laughing stock, he has a 8% win ratio his tactics are shocking for gods shake just get rid of both.

August 16, 2022 at 9:09 pm #242720Clearly not the man for the job. Needs to be gone soonest. Hill out!

August 16, 2022 at 9:18 pm #242724Best commentary moment so far from Nigel. Taft attempts a pass. “When you see a pass like that you wonder if he has his boots on the right feet”.
The gentleman that he is he followed up with “not being disrespectful”

August 16, 2022 at 9:34 pm #242730The man we need is commentating (Adkins) get this take over sorted then give him what he wants, or else we will slide into oblivion and it’s only 3 games in but this is very worrying.

August 16, 2022 at 9:37 pm #242731Wonder how Mr Turnball will put a positive spin on trying to get folk to go down to the sunken sands.
Still not going to bother until I see a new owner. Nothing has changed.4 users thanked author for this post.
August 16, 2022 at 9:39 pm #242732Takeover needs to happen first!!
New owners who (hopefully) are passionate about SUFC with a bit to invest in the squad , first job is to get rid of Hill (IMO an imposter as a football manager) next job Adkins In backed reasonably well to make us a top 10 team.
If all of that happens then maybe next season we can compete for the titleAugust 16, 2022 at 9:40 pm #242735The only good thing about that was Nigel .

August 16, 2022 at 9:41 pm #242736Shouldn’t have lasted past the end of last season after completely downing tools and throwing our youngsters under the bus.
What was the plan with that anyway? They’ve barely had a sniff so far this season…Moore-Billam sent out on loan, Young not played a minute, Shrimpton not played a minute, Cribb not played a minute, Gallimore played barely 10 minutes (and not forgetting Lobley being released after making his debut and being dragged off after 30 minutes)!
Not saying they’re good enough, but what was the point!?

Pack your bags Swann!!
We all hate you and you need to go!!!4 users thanked author for this post.
August 16, 2022 at 9:43 pm #242740Seriously need Swann out and some money pumping into the club as were drastically short of players. If new owners do come in, I can’t see them wanting Hill here either.

Somebody should have told him that we don’t have Kieran Westwood in goal.

August 16, 2022 at 9:47 pm #242742Is this talk of a take over Swann and Hill just taking the piss and it’s just a plan to ruin the club between them as it certainly seems that way.

I completely agree with this: how he’s still in a job is completely beyond me. In particular, the way we seemed to give up & just play a youth team will take a lot of forgetting and even more forgiving.

August 16, 2022 at 9:51 pm #242744But don’t forget this is Hills team so he as to live or die by the results of said team. Swann swim over the Hill and take him with you.
August 16, 2022 at 9:55 pm #242745I’m happy to give Hill the benefit of the doubt if there are signs of progress but they’re not really coming yet. Upsides are Ogle, perhaps Nuttall & Butterfield, downsides are the centre backs and creativity in the team as a whole. Not ideal.

August 16, 2022 at 10:00 pm #242746Hill was allowed to perform absolutely abysmally last season because all of the fans discontent was with the massive WA***R Swann!!
However, with Swann (potentially the winner of worst football league club owner ever!!) in the background having ‘stepped down’ from being chairman
All eyes are on Hill, his recruitment and his playing style. So far Hill is making himself look absolutely incompetent IMO

I think Donny fans would say the arsonist was worse. :-)
August 16, 2022 at 10:08 pm #242749If Swann has so called stepped down who makes the decisions with managers?

No one will come here until Swann sells up and departs.
We are that deep in limbo!

August 16, 2022 at 10:32 pm #242757Most people say there isn’t much difference between league 2 and the national League. We still have some players not good enough in league 2, no surprise they are struggling in the national league.
August 16, 2022 at 10:55 pm #242760Yet another Hill masterclass. Keith Hill and Benny Hill have one thing in common. They are both jokers. Keith Hill being the biggest joke. Having put up with the crap served up at Maidenhead and at Woking tonight he has got to go. At least Hill got a day out at the clubs expense. He is living on his reputation as Rochdale manager 10yrs ago.Time moves on and so should he.

August 16, 2022 at 11:57 pm #242764What a fickle lot you are. When Hill was signing players, and after we beat a poor Yeovil side, it was Keef this and Keith that, now we’re back to Hill. I have said all along, Hill isn’t the man for the job, he doesn’t know the league, he doesn’t have the knowledge of non league players.we need somebody who knows this god dam awful league, somebody in the Hurst mould. This man is an encyclopaedia of lower league players, whereas Hill has never managed at this level. After Yeovil, fools on here where talking about a top ten finish……no chance

August 17, 2022 at 1:04 am #242768in direct answer to the thread header … a good while longer IMO in which case WE ARE DOOMED to further humiliation.

August 17, 2022 at 7:09 am #242772We haven’t reached our level yet. Swann won’t rid us of Hill. We’re only 3 games in so the usual acid test is 10 games. Not saying he is the right man, clearly his ego is way better than his competence but another manager coming and going and we’ll get a little bit worse – it couldn’t get any worse under Cox – it did, under Hill can’t get any worse – it will – the owner needs to sell up quick but won’t.

August 17, 2022 at 7:49 am #242777Ernest gave Lee Turnbull full autonomy on his last podcast, so it would be Lee to wield the axe.
Get wielding El,Lee before we turn on you!
August 17, 2022 at 8:11 am #242781Although I am a fan of Nigel I am not sure he would make a success of SUFC because the budget Swann would give him who as we all know is the only person to blame for our demise
August 17, 2022 at 8:31 am #242784Nothing will happen while Swann is still the owner that’s why I said we need to get rid of both, the talk of take over has disappeared once again but I can’t understand why someone can’t just say yes this take over is happening but it will take time at least the supporters will have a glimmer of hope.
When Oldham were talking to new owners it was made public so the supporters were aware of what was happening and got right behind it and it lifted the mood around the club even though they were relegated.
