“Also featuring in this fixture was midfielder Habib Makanjoula, who is on a dual registration basis with the Holy Blues. After an inspiring performance by the Nigerian, he was presented the man of the match award on his first start for the club.”
Who does he train with? Who gets first pick? Will he ever get a game for us? Another El Yaswhatsit?
And his dual registration with Ilkeston?
From the OWS:-
“In other news, Habib Makanjoula’s dual registration with Ilkeston Town has been transferred to Gainsborough Trinity for whom he made his debut from the bench alongside first year professional Harrison Poulter in their side’s 3-0 defeat at Macclesfield Town.”
Don’t know how it works with him and SUFC. I know of a few non league players at levels 8-10 who are on dual reg – they train with their bigger club and play for them primarily. They occasionally play for the club lower in a league or two lower and I assume that’s negotiated between both clubs and approved by the main club? I guess it all comes down to the agreement between both clubs?
Until we start to pull ourselves back up the league structure we may well see some more of this at our club. I presume Gainsborough Trinity are paying all of Makanjuola’s wages when he plays for them.
Ive given up trying to fathom out how this dual thing works but getting MOTM on yer debut bodes well should he ever pull on a Scunny first team shirt.
I like the LOAN WATCH updates on the club website and it seems Barrows Robertson and Poulter all doing very well.
How indeed?
