I realise I’m probably very late to this but Jesus wept the new kit looks terrible! As well as being a horrible design, the “claret” looks the wrong shade! It looks more like it should be a Northampton kit than Scunthorpe. Maybe it looks different in person than on the website pictures?
Am I swimming against the tide here? Is the new kit generally popular with people?
July 19, 2021 at 11:49 am #210572It’s what the fans voted for…
Terrible in my opinion..
July 19, 2021 at 11:55 am #210574It’s crap!
Several clubs have tried this fade design including a couple of PL sides.
Man City had that orange into yellow away strip and Spurs tried fading the white shirts into navy shorts which looked bloody stupid when they wore white shorts in Europe!
It doesn’t work! Football kits should be strong blocks of colour.
It’s yet another example of how Scunthorpe United has lost its identity. If we stuck with claret and blue stripes years ago then we’d have one. You don’t see the Cods or Newcastle ditching their black and white stripes, or Blackburn binning their blue and white halfs.
The fans’ vote was a complete joke. It was always going to be the mess we’re getting this season so don’t take us for fools Mr Swann!

July 19, 2021 at 4:01 pm #210587Should’ve voted for the migraine inducing kit, might have given us an advantage.
July 19, 2021 at 4:36 pm #210588All our kits seem to be migraine inducing at the moment.
July 19, 2021 at 6:44 pm #210595Glad to see everyone respecting the vote again, quite refreshing,Sunderland couldn’t afford enough red on their shirts and looks a mess.
July 19, 2021 at 6:54 pm #210596Did you say Newcastle wouldn’t get rid of their stripes or or did you mean stripe NI, looks like a white front with A singular black stripe down it.
July 19, 2021 at 7:26 pm #210599Been into Sports Direct in Newcastle this afternoon. It’s a striped shirt okay, with broader stripes than last year’s and a gash white “granddad” collar. It’s manufactured by some company called Castore which I admit to having never heard of before!
I did sanitise my hands before and after touching one btw!
July 20, 2021 at 9:45 am #210623I didn’t realise it had been voted on – just goes to show you can’t trust the public!
But regardless of the vote on the design, I’m still disappointed with the shades of “claret” and blue. Hopefully it’ll look better in person.
July 20, 2021 at 10:06 am #210627Castore is the same company that supplies the Rangers kit and is partly owned by Andy Murray but would think if you get to the bottom of it it is a Mike Ashley owned company

July 20, 2021 at 11:06 am #210631Just goes to show though that even big clubs like Sunderland and Newcastle play around with their shirts, and they look horrible especially the Sunderland one.
July 20, 2021 at 11:09 am #210632Just seen the Sunderland one – looks like the pictures haven’t downloaded properly.
July 20, 2021 at 12:40 pm #210637Thanks BI66.
The guy who owns New Look is involved in the company too.
They’re also doing the Wolves kit which looks more canary yellow than old gold! And that Rangers shirt is a very bright blue.
Good, bold designs though.
July 20, 2021 at 3:53 pm #210648By the time it becomes available in December and sold out by February we wont have to suffer long.
Then in March we will be voting for the next kit where once again we will all select a favourite 1st and then 2nd choice.
Where we can never find anybody who actually voted for the eventual ‘winner’ and have forgotton what we voted for cos once you have voted there is no record of the choices (but that might be me being non tecky!).

July 21, 2021 at 10:01 am #210689I think looking by the pictures the kit looks OK, and I like the away kit.
July 21, 2021 at 10:44 am #210693Still not one that I would choose but the kit doesn’t look so bad in the flesh.
