borrowed from our fishy friends. it is quite alarming when you see them on paper.
Interesting they are advertising for new investors/board members .
Something Mr David said would not happen earlier in his tenure ,in his own words it will be ‘just me ‘ .
Just like he said
They will ‘always play at Glanford park’
They will ‘train at Ilkeston’
He will ‘close the academy ‘
He will ‘try a new idea ,and recruit 15-20 ex high level academy graduates’
All members of the expensive ticket club will ‘get a refund’ (waiting)
They will ‘be in a purpose built stadium in 2 years ‘July 6, 2023 at 9:25 am #265647Sadly, they’ve not all been listed either.
July 6, 2023 at 9:34 am #265650I have gave him the benefit of the doubt with the situation he inherited from Swann, also appreciative of the fact he has saved the club by clearing outstanding tax debts and paying the wages when there was nothing left.
But there are worrying signs that’s cannot be ignored:
Why are creditors still owed money when we are continuously signing players?
Are the new directors required to invest and if so, what has changed to make this happen?
Are 1899 members getting their money back?
Most importantly, what is going on with Glanford park? A new ground won’t be arriving in 2 years and a groundshare will send the club under. At the moment it seems we are relying on goodwill from Swann or the lengthy legal process it takes to evict a tenant from a commercial premises. Even if we managed to somehow remain there for 12 months we will eventually be getting kicked out.

July 6, 2023 at 9:42 am #265652This thread will not end well.
The Happy Clappers will be along soon to tell us we are not true fans if we dare to question what Hilton is doing, they’ll then tell us to clear off up the M180 and support the cod’s.
That is exactly what I saw yesterday on Twitter.
I still think this is going to end badly for the club, the difference between what’s being promised and what’s being delivered makes no sense.1 user thanked author for this post.
July 6, 2023 at 9:47 am #265653I agree with a lot of the sentiment above regarding reasons for concern about Hilton. His past doesn’t inspire confidence either.
If people think otherwise and believe getting behind him with less scepticism is their best path, fine. However, lashing out at those of us who raise concerns (which I think are often valid) and saying we should go support another club or whatever will not help. Moreover, after positioning themselves as ‘top fans’, what do they think will happen if things do go pear shaped under Hilton? Many won’t be forgiving and will be blaming their part after being made to feel small for so much as querying Hilton’s plans.

July 6, 2023 at 10:34 am #265666I have seen a few say go and support Hull or us , that’s not your team why would you ?
It’s still all up in the air isn’t it with no clear ending/outcome – if you do stay at GP , then what ?
I was listening to an interview with a Wigan podcast the other day and they have been ruined,Southend still on the edge ; Reading on the fringe of going by the sounds of it .
Fleetwood (even though many will say not a traditional club ) probably will go now , with their debt and former chairman been a wrong un.
It’s really bad how the game has gone whatever way you look at it . Just need to hope Hilton does come through ,and wants the best for The Iron ; trouble is hoping and knowing are two different things .
You just have to hope I guess .

It’s a bizarre mindset, the idea that blind faith is the only acceptable approach.
But we see it in politics, with right-wing types responding to any criticism about this country’s problems by saying “why don’t you move to X”, not engaging with the argument or even trying to defend their side of things, just looking to shut down the discussion.

They are all valid questions and deserving of an answer. You build trust by treating people correctly, telling the truth, doing what you say you are going to do and by being a leader.
You are a good contributor on here and it shouldn’t need me to tell you that the elephant in the room is Hilton.
