It’s not that easy though, is it? He might see it as cowardice to quit, for personal pride. :-)

February 21, 2022 at 4:31 pm #232497Apart from that awaywego you’ve questioned Hill’s integrity while pointing out that he wasn’t in a managerial post before Swann appointed him. Every chance he’s trying to balance the two; keep his integrity whilst keeping his job. It’s not difficult to understand is it? You’re quick to point out supporter shortcomings towards players but are happy to claim Hill has no integrity.

February 21, 2022 at 5:51 pm #232503Let’s not expect higher standards from Hill than of any other mortal.
99.9% of people who work do so out of necessity to one degree or another.
I’ve no idea how well financially secure Keith Hill is but I assume an income is welcome because even a casual observer wouldn’t have termed it a dream job when he took it.
Let’s be honest as well, if everyone had enough integrity and honesty in the UK, say tomorrow, to tell their boss exactly what they really thought of them, then there’d probably be 16 million unemployed the day after.

February 22, 2022 at 12:58 am #232527I think the jury has to be still out on Hill re the results and what he s getting out of the group… im not knocking his past achievements and experience but some of his tactical and line up choices seem a bit strange.
Scrapping the bottom of the barrel in the Jan transfer window was always going to happen and signings showed that.. but something had to be seen to be done as signing no players would not give Swan the escape route of ..””we did our best”” .. , i can here him now blaming covid , the fans in fact everything other than the real cause of our demise ..ie HIM AND HIS GREED plus PISS POOR BUSINESS ACUMEN.
The guys i chat to in Scunny who attend home matches confirm the codheads rant re the ground etc is pretty accurate as is the distinct possibility of only staying in the NL one season and being relegated from there..Dark dark times indeed

February 22, 2022 at 9:17 am #232535I was highlighting the fact that a lot of posters thought he had some, and their thoughts are shattered I’m afraid. We had the same scenario with Cox posters said if he had owt about him he should walk, when in reality people in them situations can’t afford to walk, same goes for Swann with the ground or the club.
February 22, 2022 at 1:31 pm #232567Said good appointment at the time, hoped we got back to basics quickly and with a near 442 line up.
Didn’t happen, enough games were available but targeting seemed evident and managed to throw that away.
Why has my opinion on the manager changed. A player on loan was caught spitting at another player, get a 6 match ban and should have been sent back to his parent club – don’t care at which level. The decision was made to retain his services !! Sets a shocking example. Should have gone.

February 22, 2022 at 4:03 pm #232587In my opinion you’re wrong awaywego. What you are doing is falling into SWANN’S TRAP of starting to blame Keith Hill for our present situation and taking the heat off SWANN AND CO. SWANN must have known this squad of players would not keep us in the league, it was too late and all we ended up with in January were players no other clubs were interested in signing. As for SWANN stating we wouldn’t drop out of the football league and that he would do what is necessary to prevent that, this is what you should be focusing on awaywego and not slating Keith Hill. The book stops here and is now firmly at SWANN’S door. I believe when reading through the lines of what Keith Hill in his after match interview last Saturday regarding this situation the club finds itsel in is non of his making or of the players. But he is behaving in a professional manner by not explicitly saying that it is THE SWANN’S MAKING on the radio. This is my HONEST opinion.

February 26, 2022 at 5:34 pm #232824Once again, on the radio saying it as it is-
WE ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.I don’t think it will be long before he says even more!

February 26, 2022 at 7:04 pm #232835If Hill is here but Swann isn’t next season would be the perfect scenario IMO, with proper backing Hill would be successful here

February 26, 2022 at 7:13 pm #232837True, the players aren’t good enough, but a good manager can often raise the team to something more than the sum of its parts. We don’t seem to have even that.
Prep seems poor too – look at Watson cadging a cap off a fan today for the low sun. Evidently neither keeper nor club had bothered to bring one! Incredible to think a pro player needs to borrow kit off fans during the game.
February 26, 2022 at 7:29 pm #232838Hill will be here, he got a new club car yesterday.
February 26, 2022 at 7:37 pm #232839New club car, is that akin to a chairman’s vote of confidence!
