Just listened to the Hill interview on Humberside; my take away is as follows:
1. We can’t sign players
2. We have a dreadful transfer budget
3. We’ll possibly start the season with 18 senior player, maybe fewer, maybe more!
4. Hill doesn’t think we’ll get promotion next season
5. No news on the potential sale; no sale pending
6. Expect more match time for the young players
7. Players still identified / recruited via committee
8. No news on mortgage of the ground
9. Squad not doing a pre-season away trip
10.Inexperienced physio
11.We have to stay calm and buy season tickets.reading between the lines; we are in for a long and tough season ahead!
June 15, 2022 at 2:15 pm #2388811 & 3 don’t fit together Daz, and we’ve signed Boyce. 18 senior players would be a massive improvement on where we are now.

June 15, 2022 at 2:18 pm #238883If anyone is expecting anything other than aiming to survive next season, they are going to be very disappointed.
I’m just hoping that we have a squad of committed players and some more experience, regardless of whether they are perceived as a good signing or not.
Boyce is a decent start as he obviously wanted to come – however the longer the summer goes on, any signings made are likely ones that were probably hoping for other options, and that’s not what we need unless we want a repeat of the last couple of seasons. A keeper with experience is a must – McKeown would be a fantastic signing if he is settled in the area, but I’m still doubtful he would come to us due to his history up the road.
I’d rather have some ‘OK’ players that are going to put a shift in alongside our youngsters than someone who just sees us as a solution for a year or two because they couldn’t get a contract anywhere else. We’ve had too many of those players recently (and possible still have one or two on the books).

June 15, 2022 at 2:29 pm #238884Buy season tickets kids, enjoy all the excitement that you’ve come to expect in recent seasons!
I always thought Hill was a motivator, a budget Adkins, but since he’s been here it feels like all he’s done is try to get us to revise our expectations downwards. Come on Keith, give us something to dream about! Give us some hope!

I think Hill said that 2 of the backroom staff had gone to Doncaster – I think Matt Dean did ask ‘is that Mike? Don’t know how many Mike’s there are at Scunny.
The other worrying thing that he said was that there were 2 players all ready to sign their name to a contract and they backed out at the 11th hour – I think we will be the club of last resort for a lot of players.June 15, 2022 at 7:33 pm #238905Macca would be a great signing for you . You won’t find a better shot stopper in the NL or L2. Sometimes flaps at crosses and doesn’t command his box as he should otherwise he would have played at a much higher level by now .
Obviously settled in the area after 11 years here, however wages could be the stumbling block. Rumour has it he was on 2 grand a week at town and had an extension clause in his contract that triggered another year after so many appearances. That’s why Hurst dropped him halfway through the season.June 15, 2022 at 8:10 pm #238906McBride has gone to Doncaster by Lee, but can’t get any info about signings that is Keith doing that.
June 15, 2022 at 8:19 pm #238907Isn’t one of our ex physio’s still unemployed? Who needs ******** we’ve got no it physio.
June 15, 2022 at 8:35 pm #238909Maybe Will’s going to do it?
June 15, 2022 at 9:19 pm #238914No sad loss he hardly kept them fit the last couple of seasons.
June 15, 2022 at 10:01 pm #238915Peter Swann is a disgrace
How is doing what he’s done to this club acceptable ?
There needs to be laws against it!!I had hoped the demise was over and we’d sank as low as we could go BUT it appears because of THIS MAN we are in for more troubled times.
No wonder the early bird offer was so good… you’ve signed up for more of the same… good luck to you!I can’t watch this club get destroyed any longer so I won’t be there

Hill interview was tedium at its best .. negative offering zero inspiration to supporters more so in a way telling them to expect the worst..
Hill just the latest yes man lacking in many departments ..similar to Southgate spewing sound bites without actually giving any info on stuff that really matters to the fans .. already covering his own arse in advance of weekly NL tepid defeats and lack of exitment n hope… can hear him now a few weeks into the season..
we didnt sign players we are not good enough .. when really should be .. im a shit manager working for a really crap water tight snake of a chairman who doesnt care.

No good for us then as most people on here expect our keepers to be fantastic shot stoppers, brilliant with the ball at their feet, captain material in and around their area, as as good with crosses as Desmond Tutu, don’t believe me??? Ask Rory Watson.
June 16, 2022 at 7:49 am #238923Hills biggest achievement is making Neil Cox the second worst manager we have ever had.
That won’t change either.

June 16, 2022 at 9:23 am #238926How bad is it ?
Well how many welcomed Andrew Boyce as our 1st signing ? Well he is actually the 2nd, the 1st was a striker who doesn’t particularly strike and that is Mr Nuttall !
Now get scared.

June 16, 2022 at 10:03 am #238932From a very very credible source Last season the 2 lads doing the scouting had zero communication from Will Swann about what games to attend etc,put a number of names to Will throughout the season (one was McKeown one went onto sign for Barrow and got zero response to any of the names, did get a “we don’t want him hes got a pony tail” response to Fox before he signed for Grimsby however.
June 16, 2022 at 10:20 am #238934Just seen the new Walsall kit think they have our sponsor on it! They have been sponsored by Poundland, isn’t that where we are getting our players from.

June 16, 2022 at 10:36 am #238935Think the one that went to barrow was Zanzala he has just had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
June 16, 2022 at 10:50 am #238938“we don’t want him hes got a pony tail” response to Fox before he signed for Grimsby however.
Fox was the best player on the pitch in all 3 Cods play off games.
June 16, 2022 at 11:01 am #238940So it seems that appearance rather than ability is the chief scouts priority?

June 16, 2022 at 2:57 pm #238949At least O’Neill’s ability matches his appearance
June 16, 2022 at 6:34 pm #238952I’m surprised that people are surprised at Hill. In all of his interviews last season he was dull, boring & uninspiring. What made you think he’d change?

People said the same on here about Paul Hurst

Blind optimism? Straw-clutching?

Don’t forget Robins as well.
In fact Scunny fans haven’t liked any manager since Adkins, and many on the old Bru site wanted NA sacked during and after our first relegation from the Championship.
In all my years watching Scunthorpe I think only Ron Suart escaped criticism (probably because he got out quickly). Didn’t Keith Houchen call Scunthorpe fans a miserable set of moaning bustards, or something similar.
