He was only following orders.
January 27, 2023 at 2:57 am #254058A quick clear the air apology from LT should suffice , in which he reiterates he was instructed by the former chairman on the wording to use re the fans .. as for Wright na .. hes done.
All for Sharpe n Co to assist Hilton in some capacity if at all possible.

January 27, 2023 at 6:58 am #254059The point is that a CEO of a professional football club cannot be seen to be in any way condoning the breaking of ground regulations.
What if he turned a blind eye to the following ones for instance?
“Racial, homophobic or discriminatory abuse, chanting or harassment is strictly forbidden
and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground.”
“The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result
in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground.”Nobody asked him to condone the actions, but he didn’t need to go as far as he did. A simple ” I completely understand the fans frustrations but a pitch invasion is not the answer and we as a club cannot condone it” That’s it, that all he had to say.
Our long suffering fans have had enough to deal with without our own Chairman threatening them with police action!
As for the wages being paid late, I would wager Lee’s were paid on time?

Wasn’t that the Nazis excuse?

January 27, 2023 at 8:34 am #254062It’s the excuse of many who did wrong. I was using it to make a sardonic statement on the comment prior to mine.
January 27, 2023 at 10:40 am #254067Lee Turnbull should not be left as CEO at our Club as I do not believe he has the knowledge or skills to run the administration of our Club.
Lets face it all he done recently is exactly as he has been directed to do, a puppet, anyone could hsve done that. Neither does he have the communicating skills to communicate successfully with our supporters. If David Hilton wishes him to stay could his role be Club Scout?

January 27, 2023 at 11:13 am #254068I think he made a great effort with the marquee and pre-match entertainment and still has plenty to offer the club. Mr Hilton will define his role, if any, but let’s give him a chance to work without previous constraints. As mentioned previously, some comment on his latest statement would be welcome. I’d also be interested to hear from any Swann era manager if they’re free to speak.

January 27, 2023 at 11:35 am #254069He’s not the CEO he’s the COO whatever that means, I do find it amusing that some posters by comments they have made would have done whatever Swanny told them to do, shame on you.
January 27, 2023 at 11:48 am #254070I think that’s how management structure/chain of command works for most people in the real world.
He who pays the piper and all that.2 users thanked author for this post.

January 27, 2023 at 12:03 pm #254073That’s shame on you Cass and Knuts, you could do what Swanny told you to do Whow! Don’t you have any self respect, please bare in mind Lee will always get employment.

January 27, 2023 at 12:40 pm #254074Will he? You don’t know that. I hardly think Cass and Knuts should be ‘shamed’ either. Can have a healthy discussion without shaming others can’t we?
NLI – IMO that’s going too far to claim Lee hasn’t got the knowledge and skills required.

He who pays the piper and all that. The only problem with that is Football is not the real world. In the real world Managers do not get paid off for failing and then walk into another job very quickly. If you treated your customers in the real world the way lots off football clubs treat their supporters you would be bust very quickly!
January 27, 2023 at 12:51 pm #254077Hence the inclusion of “for most people”
January 27, 2023 at 1:01 pm #254078I think Cass and I are probably just reflecting our life experience, and how we have seen things pan out in real life, which for me is over 60 years!

I wonder if the pilot and crew of the Enola Gay ever used that excuse. I don’t suppose they ever needed to…
