Won away last night and probably need to win their last 3 games to give them a chance of play offs. Could make for a different type of game on Saturday which could help us maybe?

April 4, 2024 at 11:40 am #283675Should hopefully make for an entertaining game alas that didn’t happen at Warrington they didnt make any effort to win when that what was needed, Not seen many games where teams go toe to toe at each other, i can only think of the Brackley game, disappointing really i haven’t liked the one sided games especially when we haven’t played well ourselves in most of them.
Ever hopefull.April 4, 2024 at 11:58 am #283677Should but there is the unknown in the equation. That is JD’s ambition to finish on a 3 game winning end of season run !!
April 4, 2024 at 12:12 pm #283679I’m hoping he can finish on a 6 game winning run.

Won away to Banbury, even Bishop’s Stortford beat them last weekend!

If they had lost or drawn at Banbury then realistically a playoff spot would have been difficult for them but they know if they bag a win at The Attis on Saturday they could still sneak in there. It could be a cracker if they decide to come and have a go, our fans certainly deserve that to happen.

April 4, 2024 at 3:20 pm #283687This is a must win match for us, I am like all Scunny fans just hope that JD will play 4-4-2, and go for the Hereford team from the kick off, the team and the fans deserve this.
PREDICTION.
IF THEY PLAY 4-4-2 SYSTEM SCUNTHORPE 3 HEREFORD 0
IF THEY PLAY 1 UPFRONT SCUNTHORPE 1 HEREFORD 1

0-0 or 1-1April 5, 2024 at 7:54 pm #283715Bookies are a bit unsure of the outcome for once:
Iron 1-0 Bulls 6/1
Iron 2-0 Bulls 6/1
Iron 1-1 Bulls 6.5/1
Iron 2-1 Bulls 7/1Tight game ahead?
April 6, 2024 at 2:30 am #283717A very strong squad and selection headache for JD with a fully fit circa 20 to choose from and this fixture purely depends on how he decides to tactically to address it.
i would like to see 442 and go for it from the KO as im sure Hereford will come to attack as they need points to get into the play offsFitz (obviously no one else)
Ogle Kouogun (Boyce or Evans??) Denton
Butterfield Scales Roberts Corbett
Whitehall ElliotBench DSF, MacAlinden (Boyce or Evans,Kelly Pugh.
If we attack play with pace and i can see us winning by 2 … 3-1
If its the slow sideways style .. 0-0 or 1-1Final prediction is a tight 2-1 win for Scunny

In this league, bans don’t kick in for seven days so they’ll be available today.
Edit, I’m not sure which match they were sent off in.April 6, 2024 at 9:57 am #283724Wednesday against Banbury.
April 6, 2024 at 12:50 pm #283729When did we let Youmbi go I can’t remember seeing anything.
April 6, 2024 at 2:15 pm #283730Todays staring line up and its not 442

Corbett can get a sniff like the look of him.
April 6, 2024 at 2:32 pm #283731Good to see the tactical genius that is Dean recognise the game changer when we went two up top. Clueless

April 6, 2024 at 2:50 pm #283732Is Clarke out of favour?
Disappointed that we have only one up front but – as long as JD switches over quickly if his scheme ain’t working …April 6, 2024 at 2:54 pm #283733Is Clarke out of favour?

Clarke for Pugh IMO ..and Corbett should be in playing alongside Whall
April 6, 2024 at 5:51 pm #283738Tale of 2 halves first we were poor again and it wasn’t just the wind, put a foot in and tackle do the simple things simple, Fitz shouldn’t have conceded the corner they scored from just come out and collect the ball.
Now the second half what a cracker on the front foot played at pace and left a few goals out there as well, thought Whitehall was fantastic without getting on the score sheet some of the layoffs sublime, how nice to play against a team that wanted to play as well.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 6, 2024 at 6:19 pm #283740Completely agree Awaywego I’d have given Whitehall MOTM today, he did what I’ve always wanted him to do just play like a proper centre forward, great watch second half. They came and had a go and had some good wingers but it just shows that even when good teams come and have a go they leave the gaps and spaces our better players can exploit. Roberts and Butterfield were great second half and Beestin will never strike a better goal in his life, what an excellent afternoon’s entertainment.

April 6, 2024 at 6:23 pm #283741Whitehall had a great second half, but Roberts was the turning point and was sublime. I can’t see how MOM could be anyone else to be honest.
April 6, 2024 at 6:28 pm #283743Hoping the Roberts substitution was just saving legs because he didn’t look injured walking off to me.
April 6, 2024 at 7:34 pm #283746I didnt know they’d had a man sent off until I got home! Anyone know what it was for?
April 6, 2024 at 8:11 pm #283747Twas Whitehall that fed him his opportunity though Siderite, great free kick from Robert’s that deserved to go to in as well, yes hard to call between the 2 for man of the match.
April 6, 2024 at 8:15 pm #283748Rare thing today a ref took their time over a decision and rightly didn’t send Whitehall off. He didn’t touch the players face despite him holding it. Linesman flagged for a tangle nothing more. Ref not great but for that decision full credit to him.
April 6, 2024 at 8:47 pm #283749I didnt know they’d had a man sent off until I got home! Anyone know what it was for?
No players sent off, just both assistant managers, handbags in the dugout.
April 6, 2024 at 11:06 pm #283751Great second half with wind with us, Roberts was special and I still like the look of Corbett – he could be a real asset in the playoffs. Works his socks off as well

Sub Adam Rooney red carded in the 64th minute. Technically, not sent off as he didnt come on.

Dean said he had a very slight calf strain, but should be fine. I get the impression it was more precautionary.
