Fresh selection of Beverages including Birra Moretti, Cruzcampo and Inch’s Cider. Investment from Heineken as part of the deal means we will get new upgraded equipment in the cellar and bar areas for pouring and dispensing. That’s been needed for a long, long time.
Looks like the push to make the club better is also extending now to the catering operation. Good to see.
June 13, 2024 at 8:25 am #286943I hope the matchday catering points are also improved. Although the food was better when Smoking Goat was doing it, the service was ridiculously bad (slow, and often clueless).
June 13, 2024 at 8:48 am #286944Goat burgers were fine at the start of the season but soon descended into a sweaty meat mess that stuck to the foil.
More selection of beer is a welcome addition though and This new guy seems to be the real deal, by all accounts he’s made a good job of it at Hull KR.
June 13, 2024 at 9:45 am #286945Will they doing Cummins cider?

Is that for the Iron Bar WG? Or the bar under the Clugston stand?
Until there is some investment in the equipment in the catering areas, and in the staffing there, you can’t expect to see great improvements. If only we had been owned by someone who had a track record in the hospitality industry who could have used some of that “expertise” to make improvements.
June 13, 2024 at 12:23 pm #286950Will it still be £3 a pint.
June 13, 2024 at 1:13 pm #286951Will they be stocking any mead?
June 13, 2024 at 1:30 pm #286952Going by comments on SM this deal seems like an improvement on what the club has previously been offering though must admit even being in the booze supply bizz overseas i havent heard much about the products mentioned (other than Heineken obviously)..

The new equipment is for the cellar and bar area within the Iron Bar. I do however recalling Michelle stating that the new head of catering will be bringing new equipment for the catering points.
This new head of hospitality/catering is the real deal and did a stellar job at Hull Kr. This is all in very capable hands. Drinks are top be improved, along with the food offerings. Another Scunthorpe based firm called Cookie People have signed a deal with us to sell their products on matchdays.
Things are coming together nicely.
The ground is looking very fresh, The catering side of things is to be drastically improved upon and we’re to get solar panelling fitted in around a months time which is going to lessen the electric bills.
How the hell has this all happened this quickly from where we were ?
Crazy really when you think about it it.

The Carling/Fosters pouring equipment is usually to be found in the Gents.
Actually there was nothing wrong with the bottle bar. A stack of glasses and a bottle opener was the only equipment needed.

I like to cut the middleman out. As for bottles, you sound like a Phoenix Nights sketch. ‘Sunshine indoors, you don’t need a brewery, bottles and cans’.
June 14, 2024 at 8:04 pm #287007Clinton Baptiste in the Iron Bar?
