He saved our club

Does anyone else find this an odd narrative? I get that people were grateful in January, I was one of them, but I am really confused as to why people still cling to this idea of the saviour.

Given how he has conducted himself, given his own comments on the current finances, given his own threats about withdrawing funding, given what we know about CCJs, winding-up orders & claims for non-payment, given the fact he is in an ongoing dispute about the purchase of the ground, given bans & abuse given to supporters, given the complete silence about his proposal to build a new ground.

So I’m really curious to know why people still cling to this saviour narrative – what is it they still believe in?

I’ll never class him as a savior, but while he’s funding the club by whatever means or not as the case might be he’ll do for me.

If the message is from him that was put out regarding our Club and supporters he definitely won’t do for me and many others.

I assume people are unable to view a situation over a lengthier period of time. Not every death is instant!

I’m sick of this narrative that Iron Bru as a site has an agenda, obviously these people don’t know what this mythical agenda is, but it doesn’t stop them claiming it. I’d say there’s a clear agenda to smear this site, one bloke who doesn’t ever post on here as he’s not even got a log in and the site owner who last spoke on here to berate a fan as he thought his post was gloating at Hilton misfortune get laughably named “banning orders”. They are making a big deal about a post that had around 30 interactions on here , one of which was to delete it . It’s pretty clear that those making the biggest noise never even saw it , if the post was really that bad the site I believe to be still carrying it would be getting the pressure ,not the site that removed it within half an hour of it being posted. With regards attempts to smear this site, The Iron Hour, supposed fellow fans ,along with Hilton went out of their way in an interview to smear and create a huge and potentially dangerous pile on for people on here. I hope people to think about these things more when inflaming situations and being used like puppets

He has certainly not proved himself a saviour. He has given the club a stay of execution and has tried in his fairly unique way to start a recovery process.

The tangible benefit he has brought to the club is that he has given us a team that doesn’t get beaten nearly every match. This is the fist time in 5 years that we have had that so credit where it is due.

The club will be saved if and when it is back in the EFL, owns its own fit for purpose ground and trades at a fairly small loss.

That is what Swann inherited 11 years ago and that is what success looks like for a club like ours.

ive been real busy for a few days and only picked up info in bits n bobs but after reading DH thoughts on Scunny fans and banning orders etc my opinion is changing .. i think hes just pushing for all out war thus easing his own conscience so he can drop funding and walk away.

Can ayone see another buyer coming in ?? .. be a miracle on lottery winning magnitude.

Did he buy those plots of land in his own name, or do they belong to our club? We know Swanny will never allow us to maintain Glanford Park, not even for a reasonable price.

I’ll never trust a new club owner again, sick of sticking my neck out for dishonest dead beats.
