    See he is playing for England u21s tonight and doing really well, I knew he was decent but he has kicked on to become a first choice under Carrick at Middlesbrough and now play for England.

    We have had some dross loanees notably Ike Ugbo but also some good ones like Hackney ,cork and Lansbury just hope we can get back to be in a position to get these sort of loanees asap

    £100 a week cox get him in for , highest payed player he signed was £600 a week , all the players we have now are on more than that 2 leagues lower , how’s does that happen

    Couple of Mackem mates who were at the Boro game last Saturday.

    Said Hackney and Matt Crooks bossed the midfield (Crooks also on the scoresheet).

    Remember that Bradford game? 3-2 with Toney (2) & Crooks getting the goals. Happy days!

    Hackney no great shakes when he was here IMO. Performances closer to Ugbo than Cork/Lansbury. Maybe he thought he was too good for Scunny but we’ll take the credit for helping his career.
    Always wished we could have signed Crookes – quality. If only.

    Ike Ugbo has certainly had an interesting career since pulling on the claret and blue. Has scored goals in the Netherlands, the Belgian top flight, the French top flight, the Championship this season for Cardiff and has a few caps for Canada. I think our loanees’ performances since that League 1 relegation season says more about us than their actual talents!
