Do fans think that SWANN has gone into hiding? He’s certainly nowhere to be seen or heard. Do you think the penny has dropped and he knows that he could have driven Scunthorpe United out of the Football League.

The penny would have dropped a while ago. In my opinion the only reason he reappeared before was to quieten the fans down after the whole gate locking incident.

That is of course just my opinion. Not seen him since. I know he hasn’t attended a game now in quite a long time.

Don’t worry, I am sure he will be back when he wants to convert the land into housing or some other ‘non-football’ use.

Just another example of anti-supporter behaviour. ” Let’s get the fans out in numbers to support the team.” What me?? No I’m not going!!

Not really bothered where he is but I wish he had never ever come to Scunthorpe United. In my opinion the day he stepped into our Club was the worst day in our history!

I don’t think he’s been at many matches this year (maybe 2?)for whatever reason but I think SUFC is way down his list of priorities, if he’s any sort of human he would be embarrassed by the way the club has been managed and is now facing and end to 72 years of continuous league football – shows a pretty bad precis of his abilities in the other areas so keeping clear is probably right thing to do (in his mind)

I think you’re exactly right Wondergoals, in my opinion too the only reason he reappeared was to take the heat away from himself and I think he has done the same by bringing Hill in, and he probably knew it was too late to keep us in the football league anyway. In his eyes our present situation is not down to HIM. This is my opinion.

It’s a coward who hides away and doesn’t take responsibility for his mistakes. Or are they mistakes?

The end of season statement from Swann will go along the lines of:

“We got relegated and it was the fault of the supporters, the council, and COVID.”

Classic narcissist behaviour IMO, turns up when we are gunning for the playoffs or playing attractive football whilst scoring plenty of goals singing ” look at me look what I’ve achieved here “. Build an unacceptable amount of debt playing with his toy, cuts the budget as a result, does a number on the ground and is probably somewhere in the North West of the country now with his hands over his ears singing ” da da dee da da nowt to do with me “.

If SWANN is still here at the end of this season and we are relegated no-one will want to listen to a single word he has to say as everything he says that is of benefit to our club turns out to be pie in the sky. This is my opinion.

Obviously based on his own statements there are 2 scenarios.

1/ He is still here because he hasn’t fulfilled what his statement said at the start of his tenure.
    or
2/ He has left the club. The club STILL owns the ground and surrounds and his statement from the 1st fans forum and subsequent statements will have been fulfilled.

The statement/promise made was : When WE [owners] move on the club will be better off financially than when we arrived.

Does the chairman follow SUFC Official do you think?

Scunthorpe United FC@SUFCOfficial·1h⚽️👆 ROLL CALL: Who will be at the Sands Venue Stadium supporting the Iron when we host Rochdale tomorrow (3pm kick-off)?

His end of season statement could be a classic !

You already know what he will come out with Sanfran, firstly it was the Covid virus that hit the Scunthorpe area, secondly it will be shortage of paying supporters, and not because he drove the club into big debts of £14 million pounds, sold all the better players and allowed that clown Cox to manage the club(for 12 months too long) and bring in his dross players that have served up continual unentertaining dross that took all enjoyment out of attending matches. Or that Swann has fallen out with the New Stadium Contractor, North Lincs Council, the EFL and every others that had got in his way. Keith Hill has been brought in when Cox had made sure of club relegation, this is obviously part of the plan, and every thing that Swann has promised has turned out to be bull shit. I really feel so sick that I listened to his bullshit, and fully supported him for five years, but my anger of the past three years really hurts to see our club leave the Football League after supporting them since that first League game in 1950. I feel sure that Mr Swann knows the fans opinion of him (except Awaywego and Upthemiron69), who I feel sure is Swann junior, so why does he not put the club up for sale and get his arse to Blackpool, no one will put any offer in for the club until it is put up forsale, he knows that!!!

The last thing I heard Swann say was that supporters should all be at the ground backing the team, at the same time as he himself is not to be seen, remember that the team has won just FOUR games out of the last FOURTYSIX matches, Christ!!!!

Aye too much for the Nazarene even, It’s alright turning 5 loaves and 2 fishes into a mega feast but even he would struggle turning 15 games into 28 points. 😞

I thought I made it clear before BS, I am not bothered either way wether Swann is there or not, I voted with my feet with what is on offer on the pitch and have only been to 2 home game this season so I am hardly a Swann fan.

Non of our supporters want SWANN AND HIS FAMILY here at Scunthorpe United and he knows it. In my opinion this is why he is hiding away as he never ever takes or will accept any criticism. He calls himself a businessman! Some businessman who drives his club into oblivion! He’s not fit to wipe the shoes of Steve Wharton.

A very good post bartonscorpion. You’ve hit the nail on the head. SWANN talks in riddles and says the opposite to what he means all of the time. He says he will sell our Club with the right offer, but our Club isn’t up for sale. It’s like a car dealer having cars on the forecourt but they’re not up for sale. The only thing SWANN does is back himself.

I remember when going to the forums in the exec. lounge. The first thing you met inside the door was a life-size cardboard cut-out of SWANN himself! Talk about blowing your own trumpet. Well he can’t blow it know can he? Oh and we didn’t believe anything he promised even at the first forum when he was bragging about getting us in the championship, building us a new ground, and leaving us in a better position financially. Because hey its only been run as a hobby! In my opinion what an imbecile!

With ANY of his statements read it and read it again because it then becomes evident that it is what isn’t said that says the most.

He makes comments but there is never an actual date attached to that comment.

Scunthorpe United have already lost far more than EFL status

Hits the nail on the head in the last couple of paragraphs.

The conclusion seems to be that he’s gambled and made incredibly costly mistakes on other peoples tabs.

The word perversity in the last paragraph sums up what SWANN has done. He’s way overspent and gambled and then taken our stadium in payment for his own irresponsible and dangerous spending behaviour. PERVERSE SWANN!!!!
