Unfortunately we can all post on here at the minute that mr Swann, and his management team needs to go but in reality no one with one brain cell would even think about buying a football club in division 2 at this point in time.
I very much doubt if the season will come to a complete conclusion with all the postponements happening and with tougher restrictions almost certainly coming the season IMO will be called null and void.

It has been a pretty constant parade of poor decisions, and despite his bleating about taking the blame, he then goes and repeats the mistakes.

And yet, just down the A180, a certain club ARE on the verge of a takeover.
Anyone wanting to invest surely knows to buy at the bottom and work up?
You don’t look for the dearest item, do you?Get us up for sale, Swann, and get gone.
January 3, 2021 at 11:38 am #200148He should get an experienced manager in till end of season, pay up/send the crap back and give it a go.
But he won’t. He’ll put Wilcox back i/c till the end of the season. The crap will stay. The best we can hope for is a couple of loans.
BRI – what happened to your New Year resolution?
January 3, 2021 at 11:49 am #200149If you and me performed as bad as this lot at our jobs like showing very little interest in their performance and not doing what our manager asked us to do in order to provide a good product for the customer we would soon get the sack. Alternatively during times of financial crisis we can be made redundant and got rid of that way. You know who they are Mr Swann at Scunthorpe United, sack the useless wage thiefs now while considering your own long term position at our club.

I haven’t said that I think his decisions have been good. I just don’t think it’s realistic to expect Swann to get rid of large numbers of players and the managers through paying up their contracts in this situation.

It didn’t last a day!
No, in seriousness, I don’t intend to abandon offering my opinion. I just want to try to be more willing to not get sucked into an endless debate when it becomes clear nothing more can be said.
January 3, 2021 at 8:13 pm #200176The difference there is the two people buying Grimsby have been trying for two seasons now, mr Fenty is no mug he decides to sell when the club needs the most investment due to a poor side and no income.
We on the hand and as far as we know have not been put up for sale! I think mr Swann would gladly sell at the minute if someone came in with a worthwhile offer but I said that will not happen at the minute.

I know he won’t but he should do because he’s the one that’s caused all this with him and his stupid merry band of men recruiting players when they had no idea what they were doing.
The blokes in denial, keeps blaming covid. I’d much rather he came out and blamed himself for being involved in player recruitment.
January 6, 2021 at 4:53 am #200336I would be interested in going down the fan ownership route or at least finding out what interest there would be.
January 6, 2021 at 8:58 am #200339How much funding could you put in pat?.
January 6, 2021 at 9:26 am #200342How much funding could you put in pat?.
Doesn’t have to be that much if there are enough of us. Exeter have been fan-owned for years. Wimbledon are fan-owned and have just built a brand new stadium in London!
Incidentally, fan-owned doesn’t mean that wealthy individuals can’t invest, they just don’t get to have a majority stake. For example, in Germany clubs have to have at least 50% of the shares owned by its members, rather than investors. So we could go down that route and Mr Swann or any other person who loves the club and wanted to invest could do so but they wouldn’t be able to own it or take decisions without the approval of a majority of the members. Seems like the best of both worlds, no?
January 6, 2021 at 11:13 am #200347Swann only having a 50% say in things?
Dunno about that!
January 6, 2021 at 1:16 pm #200350Yes Ferrite if 2000 of us put a £1000 in we would probably get a 20% stake in the club. Would it be your intention for us to contribute to the every day costs, wages etc, and cover any losses?.
January 6, 2021 at 1:35 pm #200353I don’t think fan ownership is the answer, fans can’t agree on things on this board so there would be no chance agreeing in the boardroom.
Also remember the saying,
Whats the fastest way to have a million?
Start with a billion and buy a football club.I doubt there are any fans who could cope with this. Owning a football club is like burning £20 notes.
January 7, 2021 at 1:44 am #200371Well that would obviously depend on how many others were interested and what they would be willing/able to do wouldnt it? In any event it wouldnt be something I would be willing to discuss on an internet forum.
And for the record I didnt say it was the right way to go or that it would be successful I said it would be worth looking into thats all!
If you change nothing then nothing changes, some maybe willing to sit on their hands doing nothing and just hoping for the best because they think there is no other option, I believe there is always another option but enough people have to want it!
At the very least I would be interested to find out how the likes of Wimbledon, Exeter & FCUM have managed to make it work?
January 7, 2021 at 9:12 am #200374I don’t think fan ownership is the answer, fans can’t agree on things on this board so there would be no chance agreeing in the boardroom.
So you are ignoring the success of Exeter & Wimbledon, or Bayern Munich, or even Real Madrid & Barcelona to a lesser extent?
It works because the board members are elected by the fans. They are their representatives. Even mega clubs like Real Madrid & Barca have elected presidents, not some random rich bloke who buys up all the shares.
January 13, 2021 at 10:53 am #200767For gods sake Mr Swann do something about this shambles. You have got us into this situation now do something about it. You have created the worse team we have ever had as a football league side. A team challenging for promotion to the championship to fighting to retain our league status in just two years due to your incompetance and lack of common sense. Mr Swann you are a disgrace and an embarrassment go now and take all the rubbish you signed with you. You could allways redeploy them at the other sands veiw.
January 13, 2021 at 11:23 am #200769So that leaves us with no owner, no management and no players!
Great plan for staying up!
January 13, 2021 at 12:25 pm #200777So what is the current plan for staying up then?
January 13, 2021 at 1:51 pm #200782Wish I knew!
My point is that if, as you suggest, Swann, Cox, Lillis, Musselwhite and all the players they’ve signed “go now” how do we complete the season?
What would your ideal scenario be?
January 13, 2021 at 2:14 pm #200784Wait for the crocked players to recover?
January 16, 2021 at 4:42 pm #201014Groundhog Day indeed…
January 16, 2021 at 9:09 pm #201091As stated earlier they all need to be gone by Monday.
January 16, 2021 at 9:26 pm #201094I may be insane but I still think an experienced manager and a striker or two on loan “half decent one’s” we’ll survive.
Keep with Cox and fail to sign anybody, we may as well write the season off and not bother.
To be honest, I think I gave Cox too much credit there…even if we got a few strikers in and kept with Cox we’d still be dead certs for the drop.
Cox isn’t up to it..simple as that
January 16, 2021 at 11:06 pm #201102Don’t be silly WG, didn’t you listen to Coxs aftermatch interview, he said he wasn’t worried about relegation!
I’m only joking, I’m as worried as you are Cox is out of his depth and clearly deluded.
March 16, 2021 at 8:18 pm #203571Cant believe they are still here.
March 16, 2021 at 8:47 pm #203572Agree, unfortunately Cox is clueless, we know that and I expect the players do as well. Tries to be the master tactician which just highlights his shortcomings.
