I thought such stuff only happened with Scunny fans, given we are so toxic and abusive. The worst in the country according to some. Yet here we hear of it potentially being the case elsewhere :-)

Ironically Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney had enquired about buying the club before they turned their attentions to Wrexham, but the board of directors thought it was a gimmick.

Where did anyone say it only happened with Scunthorpe fans, obviously if there is a worst there must be a best and everything in-between.

Some say we have the worst fans because of moaners and upsetting the owner. Others say we have the worst fans because we’re too compliant with owners. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth attacking our own fanbase as the worst when we are not that different to many other lower league club fanbases, really.

We have gone through a tough time and what we need to do is support the team and look out for any mishandling of the club.

Of course Keith Houchen, in his book “A Tenner and a Box of Kippers”, famously called Scunthorpe fans as “A bunch of miserable gits”.

It’s just fans in general though , the difference is now it’s 24/7 with social media so every team is under intense scrutiny however big or small .

It’s bonkers really in a way it was much better when you just turned up on a Saturday had a beer , hot dog and a moan and then went home and forgot about it for a week .

I enjoy looking at it all to , flicking on my phone an hour or two a day at all the bits and pieces, but then think I could have done something more productive in that time, were I am just zoned out .

Hartlepool may end up the next ones in trouble , sad the way it seems to be the old traditional clubs that are in big trouble , the game has changed .
