October 28, 2024 at 1:47 pm #292459Don’t know about that Rene, far better the result on Saturday than coming back for a draw and all the shite about being top of the league and just papering over the cracks.
If we do get Halloween tomorrow will it be such a bad thing in the long run.2 users thanked author for this post.

If we do get Halloween tomorrow will it be such a bad thing in the long run.Regardless of the result Butler will be around for the duration. The club would wind up with egg on their face to part ways during the season, in light of the contract extension. Though perhaps defeat (or even a draw or an unconvincing win) may force Butler to reassess his favoured formation.

October 29, 2024 at 9:52 pm #292527Farsley should have done some more homework, since it should have been easy to figure us out and Butler has little to no chance of turning it round. It shouldn’t take much to outwit a ‘simpleton’, after all.

October 29, 2024 at 10:41 pm #292544Of Course Butler can turn it around he started off well enough and there’s no reason he can’t again it’s just doing it is the problem just stop with the over defensive system, started with Fishburn up top again like in the win against Rushall against dropping him on Saturday for Scale’s seemed to work well enough let’s hope he saw the same.

October 29, 2024 at 10:46 pm #292547I’ve been told he’s unlikely to on here (not by you).

Agreed. But that’s not what many online have been saying it is? They’ve been saying he can’t, he’s not the man for the job, he won’t change, he’s an idiot, he’s stubborn, he should be sacked, etc, etc. Hopefully they’ll get off his back and let him do his job without so much negative noise. But I can guarantee the same old stick will rekindle following the next average or poor performance. Mainly from those who never wanted him from day one.

October 29, 2024 at 10:54 pm #292550I think it’s unlikely to but I hope I’m wrong and nothing would please me more.

Attack is the best form of defence!
October 30, 2024 at 12:25 am #292556October 30, 2024 at 2:45 pm #292594I was the one who started the Butler out thread Deerey bit tongue in cheek admittedly having just signed a new contract, but he is stubborn or more of an ego as I would put it, he said himself he won’t change, would except average performances but the last 7 weeks have being poor in the main, so maybe it should be the other way round posters saying don’t give the man’s the bees knees after one decent performance.
If we put a poor performance in against Buxton after the next 2 easy games then yes the stick will return surely that’s fair enough.October 30, 2024 at 2:54 pm #292595I think that would be fair if we were not around top of the table. Criticism is fine, but some of it has been completely OTT. Yes, recent form has not been great, and the performances haven’t been good enough for a stretch, but you’re speaking as if we haven’t been consistently around the top for the season to date. If we fall away there will be (deserved) criticism, but some of it right now seems completely out of proportion.
We should be doing well with our squad, but it’s not going to be a stroll, even with a good squad. Last year should have been a lesson in that. Also, Butler is still an inexperienced manager, so will make mistakes, but it doesn’t mean he’s incapable of learning. He has his own philosophy, and seems willing to stick to it, but the last few games has seen a greater use of its strengths that were limiting us. Beestin is now being used mostly in midfield, and seems better for it. We can have concerns and criticisms, but we should maintain some grounding, in my opinion, and support Butler and the team first and foremost. It’s early days, it might falter, but some of the comments have been doom and gloom as if we’re about to be relegated.

Plenty of nightmares tonight after today’s dreadful display I’m sure.

Perhaps they were distracted with the off-field turmoil they find themselves in? Bottom of the league Radcliffe didn’t have too much bother sussing us today.

November 3, 2024 at 12:17 am #292796Maybe we were suffering from the off field turmoil of hiring a CEO and giving an unproven manager an extended contract.
