For those who are a little nerdy like me; you can read the ground requirements for NL, NLN etc. as outlinded by the FA at the link below:

    https://www.thefabrochure.com/groundgrading/

For those who were hoping that a ground share might include Bottesford Town or Brigg Town, you’ll be dissappointed. The nearest ground that looks like it meets the Step 2 (NLN) and Step 1 (NL) requirements in Gainsborough Trinity.

As someone who has visited a number of non league grounds and all the local area ones, get ready for a wake up call if SUFC end up playing at one.
The majority of the capacity will be standing and probably uncovered. A nice summers day for a pre season friendly then great. A Tuesday night in January not so great.
I’m sorry but if plan B playing at a non league ground becomes a reality it won’t be good.
I realise we have to play all away games at such places, but at home ?

They’ve agreed a deal with Gainsborough but I was told last night that it hasn’t been rubber stamped by the league yet. An interesting week ahead with the NL AGM looming next weekend.

    4) So is there a plan B if the GP plan doesn’t work?
“Yes, We signed an agreement on April 28th with a local club which meets league requirements and was approved by the league who have provided a licence for the current season. This is our plan B but is very much a contingency

thought i would see what GTFC ground is like .. seems ok , take it open un covered end will be the away end for our “home” fixtures.

Local pubs and businesses can make hay while the suns shines with twice the number of home fixtures being played there.

I’m fully aware of the Twitter thread, but I have been told from a very good source (No, not Swann Max) that the National League are looking at ratifying it over the weekend ahead of the full AGM next week. I find it interesting that no official channels have announced that it has been approved.

    Sloping pitch is good too.
Transport and parking aside, there will be numerous other issues moving a 3,000 person average attendance into somewhere set up for a third of that on a usual match day.
I think we really need to hope Mr H secures GP in some way.

    Yet – https://twitter.com/YorkyIron/status/1663940387952549888?s=19

Playing at another ground will have a massive impact on sponsorship and advertising revenue as it will be essentially none existent not to mention pay on the day gate receipts.

I’m surprised the possibility of a ground share has been met with such optimism because the financial implications are considerable.

I think once the novelty wears off we’d be lucky to get half of that over to Gainsborough on a match day.

This is the Concern, putting information out through a fan’s personal account and taking it as Gospel.

And for those whining saying “do you expect the club to comment on everything” when it concerns something serious you could speak to someone like Ollie Turner for 5 minutes, Thanks. that doesn’t take much time and effort.

IB, it’s that weekly lowering of expectations again I think. A lot of fans are probably at the stage of being hopeful of seeing nln football at all next season?

Yet again he has been economical with what is the truth of the situation. We deserve better than being constantly fobbed off with weak reassurances.

Agreed CMC. Hilton hasn’t told us about Gainsborough or nln ratification needed. We’ve had to find out from someone else. It’s a circus. Not good enough

The reality is, if Hilton doesn’t complete the GP purchase then Swann has engineered removing the ground from the club and having the ground to do as he wants development wise.
I don’t see how the numbers add up to give up on GP, rent a non league ground and build a new stadium which even at the most basic level will be £20 million.
I don’t know exactly what is going on but I think the fans are being played like a cheap fiddle. It’s unbelievable that aside from half a dozen twitter accounts the majority seem to be unaware or ok with it all.

Yet any kind of mistrust when stuff like this keeps happening has the sceptic painted as if they’re conspiracy theorists. No, I don’t think Hilton is a drugs baron or Ilkeston Iron was ever a likely scenario (and said so at the time), but that doesn’t negate the issues with our perilous ground situation which aren’t helped by Hilton giving evidence devoid explanations for how it will all work out. This aspect can’t be blamed on Swann either.

And Hilton and his acolytes wonder why there’s so much division? Joke.

I’ll play devils advocate here, what happens if Hilton does go through with what he’s saying and a training facility and ground is built.

Wouldn’t you all feel a bit stupid after all the suspicion being thrown Hilton’s way ?

From what I gather the so called “fans” who are talking utter nonsense on twitter aren’t tied to Hilton, it seems they’re burner accounts just causing division being utter arseholes.

I’ve seen a number of Bury fans at it on twitter. There was one on there the other talking about the club and Hilton winding up United fans.

All stems from when Hilton tried to buy them but they subsequently went bust.

I wouldn’t take much notice of those accounts on there if I was you. No doubting there is uncertainty surrounding the club but we all knew that was the case once Swann signed over the clubs assets to his company.

The day he did that we were always going to be in big trouble. If it is to be believed and there were things over looked by Swann when agreeing to sell the club and he isn’t willing to iron them out before Hilton purchased the ground then I’m not surprised he backed out.

As I said above, the day Swann signed over the club assets to his company he had us over a barrel. The day he did that we were fecked. Only thing we can do is half a clean break from Swann which sadly means moving out of GP, or shall I say being kicked out.

Only problem is were now firmly relying on Hilton now to follow through to what he says so were in a precarious position regardless. Fingers crossed he comes good though.

The club isn’t on a position I’m comfortable with being a fan but nothing we can do really, apart from hoping and wishing that Hilton sticks to his word.

I don’t think it’s stupid to want answers to scrutiny. If he delivers, great. A good owner needn’t fear questions and concerns, but such can catch out a bad owner. Just relying on trust will not bring problems to light; we saw that with Swann.
