January 30, 2023 at 1:12 pm #254454Get those Chinese guys up the road on board with some sponsorship, The British Steel Stadium would do for a few years if it pays well.
January 30, 2023 at 2:05 pm #254462Can’t rename the ground until the sand siro sponsorship ends, unless you want to buy the rights back off Swanny now.
January 30, 2023 at 2:23 pm #254464I thought that ended already, didn’t it ?.

January 30, 2023 at 2:31 pm #254467you have to register with league to change ground name don’t you?
January 30, 2023 at 2:40 pm #254470The Sands name disappeared this season, the former owner said at the start of the season, rather peevishly, that since the fans didn’t want the name he had cancelled it.

If they need a government handout to secure jobs I doubt sponsorship is high on their list of priorities.
January 30, 2023 at 2:55 pm #254479I believe they need a handout to meet the zero carbon emissions Cass and start producing steel in a more ” green ” way. Who wouldn’t want a little help with that, it’s the governments baby and it ain’t cheap. Mind you, nowt in steel making is cheap but I’m sure they could still be persuaded to cough up a little sponsorship dough. Plus it’s a proper link to the town not some namby pamby hotel in Blackpool that no-one gives a flying f*** about

January 30, 2023 at 3:16 pm #254484Electric Arc Furnace would mean a lot of job losses, I think
January 30, 2023 at 3:39 pm #254491Electric Arc Furnace would mean a lot of job losses, I think
Loss of heavy end with ironworks, BOS plant, remaining coke ovens, sinter plant….

I guess that’s the march of progress although others will argue against anything green I guess, better to have some jobs then none but we can’t really change what happens in industry can we.
January 30, 2023 at 7:46 pm #254505Hilton did mention in that interview that he would be looking into sponsorship e.t.c so he’ll have a scout about and fix something up for stadium naming rights.
British Steel would make sense. I can’t think of anything else locally.
January 30, 2023 at 9:16 pm #254516Wren kitchens are in better financial health than the steel works. Be a drop in the ocean with their marketing budget.

January 31, 2023 at 6:18 am #254525The Borough of Glanford disappeared in the mid 90’s, name change is long overdue in my opinion. The Jack Brownsword Arena would get my vote.

January 31, 2023 at 9:26 am #254533The Wren Kitchens Jack Brownsword Arena would! :-)
January 31, 2023 at 9:27 am #254534They can call it the Kitchen sponsored by Wren or the Furnace sponsored by British Steel so long as one of them coughs up an commits for a few years.
The Kitchen would be quite Ironic given the issues with catering issues over the last 10 years.

That’s a good idea, we could call it “The Nest”☺️
January 31, 2023 at 9:38 am #254538Without sponsorship – JB stadium is great.
With sponsorship they can, within reason, call it whatever they want.January 31, 2023 at 10:17 am #254542The Latin term for a Wren is Troglodytes Troglodytes.
So “The Cave” may be more appropriate!
January 31, 2023 at 10:24 am #254544It will never change from Glanford park in most fans eyes and it has that ring to it no matter who sponsors it. For me whoever it is put their name before Glanford park.

January 31, 2023 at 10:28 am #254546Think ‘The Nest’ used to be Norwich ?? Or was it Southampton ?? Think a stand was named that.m
January 31, 2023 at 11:10 am #254556The Cast House or maybe Slag Pit depending on form.
