Their relegation was ‘not fair’ according to them…
Please can you change the title of the thread?
Something of a misnomer I feel.
The National League will fulfil all their fixtures, the leagues below haven’t. Hmmm, I wonder why there is no relegation from the National League, but there is from League Two. It’s a toughy.
Just bad spelling NI, It was meant to read Grimsby appalling.
I can’t see what’s remotely unfair about it.
Neither can Torquay!
Its embarrassing that they are deadly serious. At no point this season has either club piped up about the unfairness of it all until they were relegated. 24 teams knew at the start of the season that the bottom two would be relegated. Entirely fair.
Dock the pair of them points for a frivolous appeal!
Relegate them 3 more levels.
I can’t see what’s remotely unfair about it.
This feels weird, I am in complete agreement with Bucks!
I don’t blame the Cods for trying it on but it is pretty desperate.
The EFL should include a clause in their rules and regs which says that any club is entitled to appeal against their relegation but if they are unsuccessful in their appeal they will be relegated two divisions lower than the league they would have been relegated to e.g Grimsby would be relegated to the Northern Premier League and Southend to the Isthmian League.
That would focus a few minds!
It seems that they are appealing because there is no relegation from the NL. They appear to have overlooked the fact that there is promotion from the NL to the EFL. How would they propose that is dealt with?
My understanding is that they believe that the NL should be treated as a separate entity this year.
Because there is to be no movement internally between the divisions the same teams in the same league should feature next season.
They’d argue that unlike the EFL, the NL has not been able to function as it normally would.
Nonsense of course, as they knew what the consequences of finishing 23/24 in L2 was as much as we did.
Reckon their only hope is to get one of Trump’s lawyers on the case!
