Changed my mind more times than Catherine Tramell changed her knickers in Basic Instinct.

Should Jimbob have left Roberts on?January 6, 2024 at 5:03 pm #278896Should have made it out of sight in the first 30 minutes. Dreadful in the second half.

January 6, 2024 at 5:59 pm #278901They weren’t in the game for the first 33 mins, and we weren’t in the game in the second half at all, who’d have thought wed be hanging on for a draw, Elliot did good first half needed the other Danny in the second, just someone to stop the the ball being pumped in no outlet for us whatsoever, Ogle twice got caught with the ball instead of clearing, the whole team just seemed to be panicky second half, Roberts or Elliot for man of the match all based on their first half display.
January 6, 2024 at 6:03 pm #278902Strange decision to take Robert’s off didn’t like the way we switched off in second half if the ball is in their half they won’t score.
Great crowd on to next week we didn’t lose guysJanuary 6, 2024 at 6:08 pm #278903For the second game in a row the second half was a terrible performance from The Iron. It can’t continue Jimmy – get it sorted!!
January 6, 2024 at 6:18 pm #278905Subs lost the game for us. Beestin headless chicken and played out wide again. Shrimptom did nothing and Roberts replaced by Kelly gave them more invitation to advance – which they didn’t need. We had no shape no coherence when those subs were made and they made us substantially worse on the pitch. I am getting quite annoyed at how Beestin gives up tracking back – even when it’s him who lost the ball.

582 from Boston I believe or something similar, just under 600 anyway.

January 6, 2024 at 6:32 pm #278912We played the first half our way, they played the second half their way and we got dragged into their way too much. No thought on the ball second half, too much rushing and hoofing it upfield which suited them. They got a deserved point IMO , Roberts was excellent first half and Elliot showed we didn’t miss Superfanny one bit, held it up well, competed in the air, much quicker on the turn and chased a number of lost causes which he caught and won a corner from a couple of times. Oh and when he got pulled back second half he got up and got on with chasing the ball not lying on the ground flapping his arms squealing ” ref ref “. Nice to seem some proper forward play, well done Danny Elliott.

January 6, 2024 at 9:39 pm #278927First and foremost, it was refreshing to see a side actually come here to play and win a game playing decent football. Felt like a proper league game for a change.
First half was some of the best stuff I’ve seen us play all year, the direct balls worked a treat and roberts had so much freedom down the right hand side. Really impressed with Elliot and his link up play too. Boston’s only hope was grabbing a goal through a set play, and unfortunately that turned out to be correct.
Still not sure exactly what went wrong second half, there seemed to be so many gaps across the midfield and we lost the majority of second balls from our defence. Credit to Boston though who created a number of chances and were all worth a point in the end.
Certainly not the end of the world as some of the doom and gloom merchants are bellowing on Twitter, but Tamworth are showing no signs of letting up so we have to follow this up with consecutive wins again if we are to take the title.
Another decent crowd too.

January 6, 2024 at 9:59 pm #278929Kelly gave them more invitation to advance
I didn’t like that sub at all. Why didn’t he bring on Wilson in an attempt to carry the ball up the pitch ?
I could see why he took Smith off due to fact he wasn’t tracking back but not sure I agree with the subbing of Roberts.
Jimmy went defensive and it backfired.
