A new future!November 30, 2023 at 6:51 pm #277675I think money will talk Barrie, hope there’s a long queue of potential sponsors with deep pockets.
November 30, 2023 at 6:52 pm #277676Incredible work by all involved.

November 30, 2023 at 7:05 pm #277684I hope that the council will get their names on the company register.
November 30, 2023 at 7:39 pm #277694Seems like they have, all is well
November 30, 2023 at 8:05 pm #277696Excellent news, one of the best outcomes we could have asked for.
Regarding stadium naming rights, since it’s now owned by a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, does that rule out any sort of commercial deal to make some dolla?

November 30, 2023 at 8:38 pm #277698Don’t think being a CIC should prevent ground sponsorship. The rule is any surplus generated should be reinvested, rather than shareholders receiving a dividend.
Can’t think of a better way to spend the substantial government cash for regenerating Scunny than saving our club and investing in future income streams.
Massive thank you to everyone who has made this happen.2 users thanked author for this post.
November 30, 2023 at 9:04 pm #277702Naming rights have been agreed for GP and also the training pitch. Expect announcements in the next week or two.

November 30, 2023 at 11:13 pm #277707I don’t care what they call it as long as we have got it back, also well done to all concerned in getting it done

December 1, 2023 at 1:29 am #277711December 1, 2023 at 8:32 am #277720We could have a new name completely with a naming rights sponsorship deal! It seems to be the thing at the minute and would bring in much needed funds.
December 1, 2023 at 8:35 am #277721This is what happens when people who care run the club, there will be still many problems to overcome but we have got half way up the ladder to recovering the position we need to be in.

Cheers SST. Had a little read up on stadium naming rights for council owned properties and saw that Man City pay their council £2m a year for control of naming rights…which they then get £35m a year for from Etihad Airways. Not a bad markup that!
December 1, 2023 at 11:30 am #277741They can call it what they want but it will always be GP to us and that’s all that matters.
December 1, 2023 at 11:50 am #277743December 1, 2023 at 1:17 pm #277752I like The New Showground.
Me too. Connects us with our history and has a poetic ring to it. A long way to go ..but maybe we’re seeing better days coming over the horizon.
December 1, 2023 at 2:09 pm #277754Im sure there would be a way to incorporate a stadium sponsor within also using many fans first choice The New Showground ..
example
The Rene Artois New Showground … could well be worth a decent lump od revenue going into the clubs coffers.December 1, 2023 at 3:27 pm #277758its not a showground or new
December 1, 2023 at 3:27 pm #277759Fair point, well made.
December 1, 2023 at 4:03 pm #277761Maybe a name associated with the devolopers of the new Lakeside properties – would bring in cash for the club.
Or does the lakeside village devolopment no longer exist – excuse my ignorance if its all been shelved?
Bit out of touch down in the South West :)December 1, 2023 at 4:44 pm #277763Maybe a name associated with the devolopers of the new Lakeside properties – would bring in cash for the club.

Bit out of touch down in the South West :)On the contrary, it’s going well, we’ve already got a roundabout on the M181.
It goes nowhere but that’s not the point.
We’re waiting for another roundabout next.December 1, 2023 at 5:21 pm #277768its not a showground or new
It’s not part of Glanford either!
