Not completely true.
Hilton used part of the funds that were in the clubs account to part pay the HMRC debt and come to a monthly payment arrangement, which incidentally he didn’t stick to hence the new application for a winding up order.
Because of the arrangement the transfer embargo was lifted.
The statement by Hilton that we were days away from being wound up wasn’t true either, no judge in the history of football has ever wound a club up on the first application for a winding up order, they are always given time to pay.
Southend is a prime example, research will show you other clubs have never been wound up at the first application either.2 users thanked author for this post.

October 11, 2023 at 8:02 am #275210Nearly every word I’ve heard about Michelle Harness is positive- the word integrity keeps cropping up. This will buy her time with local businesses owed their money and give some wiggle room for repayment plans to be put in place.
The real challenge will be getting the ground off Swann- which is no mean feat. Additionally, good will will only take her so far and the consortium will need to be pumping in hundreds of thousands to get us out this mess for the short term.
We aren’t out of the woods by any stretch, but hopefully we are now finally heading in the right direction.

Agree with this. Michelle’s attitude and demeanour, her professionalism, is what should buy us time and patience and see us through some choppy financial waters. I expect businesses outside of SUFC which have been used to dealing with Clown 1 and then Clown 2 in recent years will now be a little more confident in the club playing nicely. I also suspect some of the board will be able to assist financially.
