September 28, 2023 at 12:28 pm #273778I would actually be interested to hear Peter Swann’s take on all this, tbh.

I can’t imagine it would be anything other than self-pitying & self-serving.

September 28, 2023 at 12:38 pm #273783He’s not worth a second more of our time. Hilton might be the one pulling the trigger but only after years of torture from Swann.

There’s some truth to this – but don’t say you’ve bought and paid for a football club and a ground when you haven’t got the money – and don’t behave in such an aggressive and unprofessional manner. Hilton is as responsible as Swann, imho.

September 28, 2023 at 12:50 pm #273788I thank you for giving it a go Mr Hilton I’m sure it’s the best move for you and your family I wish you well back at Ilkeston the club you love and is reciprocated by your fans there.

Both posts spot on guys .. why the fook did Hilton buy Scunny in the first place if he doesnt really have a pot to piss in .. is the Rolla on the drip ??
September 28, 2023 at 12:59 pm #273792Heartbreaking.
September 28, 2023 at 1:19 pm #273799He only did the same as St Simon and Ian not so Sharp, they said they’d bought it when they hadn’t. Well at least now I can get back to being the true awaywego and away games only till we fold completely, never did like Glanny park in the first place never a good match day experience there being out of town, not to bothered for myself I have so many good memories about the club but feel gutted for my grandkids and all the other young ones.
September 28, 2023 at 1:19 pm #273800NI, you’re the nearest, does Pity Me have a football team?

Perhaps the land around GP represented great opportunities to fund a pot to piss in, and it was always going to be (the club) taking one step forward then three steps back and so on and so on, until things got to the point where the land was developed and paying off? We may never really know.
September 28, 2023 at 1:35 pm #273811Somehow, some way all the focus has to be put on trying to ensure that there is still a base for football in Scunthorpe. Whether that’s through fundraising for all you’re worth, local businessmen involvement, the Trust or council, it’s vital GP isn’t lost to football. The biggest issue that hampered us at Darlo, and continues to do so, is not having a home of our own. You simply must try to get that ground if you can, any way you can. So sorry to see what’s happened and good luck with the fight that lies ahead.

September 28, 2023 at 1:45 pm #273819Going to be strange finally saying farewell to the biscuit tin…
September 28, 2023 at 1:50 pm #273822Did Swann get us discount at Gainsborough?
September 28, 2023 at 1:50 pm #273823September 28, 2023 at 1:50 pm #273824I interpret the statement to mean that Insolvency Practitioners have either been consulted or soon will be. The likely outcome will be a period of Administration (are there points deduction at NLN level?) and further pressure being put on the club’s creditors via a CVA.
The problem now is the professional, decent and sensible people (Ian, Keith & Tahina) no longer want to serve the club. You are left with board members who are limited and add next to nothing.
Given the uncertainty, a press release which reads and I quote, “The Chairman and remaining board members have now set out a plan in order to very quickly make the club sustainable.” would not pass the quality control department at Andrex.
Hilton is what he is. However, the Football Association, its Os’& Ds’ Test and Peter Swann have a lot of questions to answer as far as I am concerned.

IMO the biggest challenge to raising funds and support is that many have come on board and been burned now. Are those same people going to invest again? Maybe a glimmer of hope is with those that didn’t get on board as they didn’t trust him?
September 28, 2023 at 1:56 pm #273827Not for me I’m on my hols, hope people don’t wreck the ground during the last to home games Dalro1 is right if there is a future it will only be there no where else, so I do hope fans behave, well at least to the ground itself.

Origin of the name is the French “petit mere” meaning little lake.
Unfortunately we are drowning in a mighty ocean!
What with this news and what I posted on t’other board suffice to say I’m not “whistling while I work”!

September 28, 2023 at 2:08 pm #273832kiss good bye to promotion HMS piss the league has been torpedoed … if the club enters into admin im pretty sure at our level there is a points deduction.

The inference was the same for me. Insolvency Practitioners followed by a period of Administration.

Regarding my first paragraph above, Kieran Maguire hinted at the same on Radio Humberside tonight. If this does happen, the Administrator has to produce a statement of affairs, therefore can I suggest that either the Iron Trust or the Lads at Iron Bru try and obtain a copy of the management accounts to month end January ’23. This is critical in establishing what damage has been done post Swann’s involvement.
