It’s being reported that we will be groundsharing at Gainsborough after Brackley, via Herbert’s big gob. Also, throwing people’s phones on the pitch seems to be deemed acceptable action by our unofficial spokesman.
Understand that Scunthorpe United, who have 6 CCJs and at least 2 winding up petitions, will be playing home games at Gainsborough Trinity after the Brackley home game. Big thanks again to @smashedagain for the info

September 23, 2023 at 6:44 pm #273245It just gets worse!
September 23, 2023 at 7:07 pm #273246I’d be intrigued to know just how much money this would save the club. Surely, we’ll be required to pay Gainsborough to use their ground. We may save a little on stewarding and policing costs due to the reduced capacity and attendances, but that would also result in less income from gate receipts.
If this rumour is true then I suspect that David WHAM is unwilling to, or can no longer afford to, pay for the expensive legal fight with Swann over the ground, hence he has thrown the towel in, and the football club and staff will be vacating GP and giving the keys back to Swann.
Club up for sale, no ground, bills not being paid, countless CCJs, winding up petitions, playing home matches in Gainsborough, and a squad that is likely to end up going part-time. I wonder when the supporters of David WHAM will say enough is enough.
September 23, 2023 at 7:24 pm #273247Aidan,
If you’re reading this, please can I urge you to contact one of the FLOs or Matchday Commanders at Humberside Police on Monday and report today’s incident thus doing all the decent people involved at Scunthorpe a big favour.
It was only a matter of time.
September 23, 2023 at 7:25 pm #273248this has been bubbling around since the directors statement but for me it makes no sense ,we’ll have rent on top of match costs ,unless something regarding the court case has changed

September 23, 2023 at 7:36 pm #273249My thoughts exactly!
September 23, 2023 at 7:38 pm #273250Agree it makes no sense but little does about the club right now
September 23, 2023 at 7:52 pm #273251I can’t see how it can work especially season ticket holders with seats, how do you scan tickets for anywhere and they are still selling tickets and car parking for GP for Buxton and Bishop Stortford

Suppose they could still do that and bus everyone down?

September 23, 2023 at 8:06 pm #273254According to herbs.
This is in the audio I referred to the other day.Hilts plan us to move to gainsborough, drop the court case and save on legal fees.(90k a day was quoted, cant see that been accurate)
Call swanns bluff into thinking we no longer want and need the ground so he drops his asking price.
Refund all season ticket holders(apart from £22 for each game played so far)and sponsors etc
September 23, 2023 at 8:07 pm #273255Oh and run with part time skeleton staff
Apart from players and coaches who remain full time
September 23, 2023 at 8:21 pm #273256refund them with what money? he can’t even manage to pay the wages!!!

For me this is not viable in any way, shape, or form. There will be negligible savings with a shared facility but when you consider the rent payable to Gainsborough and the impact that such an arrangement will have on Scunthorpe’s revenue streams there will be no net gain. The cost of moving away from GP and the threat it poses to the club’s future should not be underestimated.
If another game’s being played, well the educated soon blew for time on the land owned by Onward Holdings Ltd.

September 23, 2023 at 8:56 pm #273262Court case not due until Jan-march? if he’s dropping out then why now – just leave it until the day before by which time other plans with other parties might have come to fruition. what Scunny need is time.
move to Gainsborough you may as well close the club down.

September 23, 2023 at 9:43 pm #273264He has to present is case by mid October to the judge to look over till the case is heard, now why would he go forward with it when he said he wants out are you lot totally dense or what.
September 23, 2023 at 9:44 pm #273265Gainsborough CEO doesn’t seem aware of it on Twitter.
Sherbert Lemon really is having a bad week. Hilton must either be furious or delighted with how he’s performing.

As a negotiating tactic, there’s a very, very slim chance that this might work. But not if you announce it publicly as what you’re doing….
September 23, 2023 at 11:58 pm #273273Hmm, bluffing doesn’t equal negotiating tactic IMO. Playing Poker hasn’t worked so far has it?

It may not be ethical, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen…

September 24, 2023 at 7:13 am #273279None of this makes sense .. the statement made by the board was just to set the tone for impending doom .. a move to Gainsboro is tantamount to the club folding .. i am so fed up of all this bollocks and fast approaching the state of ” i dont give a shit” .. not being in the Uk /Scunny and lots of other stuff on my mind here helps but i really feel great sadness for the town and all the local fans who will loose their football club… part of my history is being lost forever and more so future generations who wont have the chance to enjoy all the experiences having a local club brings.
Swan and Hilton have a lot to answer for ..
Our survival looks very unlikely.
September 24, 2023 at 8:15 am #273282I think Daz has the nail hit on the head regarding it being Hilton admitting defeat on the legal battle if this comes to pass.

September 24, 2023 at 9:43 am #273287away we go – it isn’t dense to use what you have to buy time – papers, as you say have to presented in October, no doubt by a legally qualified person, several of which sit on the board of directors. pro bono
September 24, 2023 at 9:48 am #273288I wonder how much the match day fee to the Holy Blues will be – and if they’ll demand payment upfront?
