Can some-one tell me what a full time player does, the typical hours they attend and what training they do during the week leading up to a Saturday match as opposed to a part-time player – no guesses or suppositions.
March 6, 2024 at 3:36 pm #282217A full time player trains during the day and not after a full day’s work, they rock up at tenish come out and have a kick about at 10.30, never stayed till the end of training so don’t know when they finish cant be to late though cos they used to go for dinner in the restaurant, 5 days a week training unless there’s a mid week game then it’s only 3. Part time is after work like I said and normally 3 times a week but don’t know what they do if they have a midweek game.
March 6, 2024 at 4:54 pm #282226Most part-time clubs won’t train every day, probably 2-3 times a week depending on matches.
March 6, 2024 at 5:13 pm #2822292 nights a week, lower down the steps.
March 6, 2024 at 5:46 pm #282234SUFC players have every Wednesday off.
Monday – player injury assessments, low intensity session, post match analysis.
Tuesday – match day
Tuesday – (no game) morning & afternoon session
Wednesday – off
Thursday – if no game Tuesday evening, then it’s an am & pm session.
Thursday – if a game on Tuesday evening, then it’s the same as a Monday.
Friday – match prep, set pieces, light session, pre game analysis, early away.
Saturday – game
Sunday – offAbout 10 hrs a week max on the ‘training pitch’ – less when there’s a game on Tuesdays.
Part time
Tues 1 1/2 hour session
Thurs 1 1/2 hour session
Both after work.March 6, 2024 at 5:48 pm #282235Part-time players don’t have as much time to spend at the tattooist or hairdresser.

March 6, 2024 at 6:14 pm #282237The full timers will get more gym time too to work on the weights and cardio vascular if they wish, part timers I’m guessing will do weights in there own time maybe on a day off from work ( if they get one ).
March 6, 2024 at 6:31 pm #282243Does filling the car up count as ‘weights’? Saw Matty Sparrow filling his car up one weekday morning about 10am at Berkeley circle
March 15, 2024 at 9:36 am #282768If we don’t achieve promotion will we go part-time next season?
Hybrid?
In Mon, Weds & Fri when no Tuesday night game.
In Mon, Thurs & Fri when there’s a Tuesday night game.Should help reduce costs and we’d be ‘semi-professional’?

It was better in the old days when they spent all afternoon in the pub, right?

Can’t see it myself, the crowds we get should support a decent full-time squad.

March 15, 2024 at 10:44 am #282774Agreed. Looking at this season’s average attendances, we’d have the 6th highest in the National League. No reason those teams in the division above us are able to support full time squads whilst we couldn’t.
March 15, 2024 at 10:52 am #282775Didn’t Michelle confirm that we’d be FT next season irrespective of the league we’re in?

March 15, 2024 at 10:56 am #282776I think you’re right CT.
March 15, 2024 at 11:02 am #282777Michelle has publicly stated that regardless of which league we play in next season, we will have a full time squad.
Unlike the last two owners, what she says is fact.March 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm #282779No time for facts when there was ‘vermin’ to ‘smoke out’!
March 15, 2024 at 9:07 pm #282782Didn’t Michelle confirm that we’d be FT next season irrespective of the league we’re in?
No, I’m pretty sure she said we’ll remain full time regardless of what league we’re in.
March 15, 2024 at 9:21 pm #282783Isn’t that the same thing Burny
March 15, 2024 at 10:01 pm #282784Poor old WG, still can’t read properly.

No. Pretty sure she said that even if we’re NLN next season we won’t go P/T?
March 16, 2024 at 1:20 pm #282797No. I’m pretty she said that even if we get promoted or stay in this decision then we will stay full time but not remain part time whilst in this division but actually go full time when in the division above or even in this division, whilst at the same time not remaining part time but going full time, regardless or irrespective of the division we’ll be in.
Hope that settles the debate.
