Our Club, Scunthorpe United has now become the embarrassment of the football league. I have supported my Club during the last sixty-odd years and have never seen Scunthorpe United sink to the depths where we are now under this present ownership. In my opinion the Swann family couldn’t give a toss as to where we have sunk and show no interest in the football by Swann not even bothering to turn up on matchdays. It has purely been a failed business venture and now he has taken ownership of the stadium and assets and passed them over to his own company due to the Swanns family failures. How much lower could the Swanns have sunk. He says there have been offers but not good enough.
Please Swann make this official and put the Scunthorpe United up for sale whilst we still have a club left to support as you have become a total embarrassment to our Club and our town. I also believe that YOU should be standing by some of the debts ran up by yourself and family and have not claimed our stadium and assets. I heard 2 years ago on which I believe to be good authority that Swann was floating our Club up for sale outside of the UK even then. This proves the Swanns total disinterest. Please do the decent thing like when you left Gainsborough Trinity, write off some of the debts you have incurred and give us our stadium and assets back.3 users thanked author for this post.

Topics: 11Yeah Swann put the club up for sale, don’t cover any losses because fans are fickle as…. and don’t bother trying to bring any players in in January to help our cause.
If this goes on for a few years while a suitable buyer is found so be it.
Sounds brilliant doesn’t it.
October 8, 2021 at 7:41 pm #215093Haven’t you heard of Derby, sheff weds,Swindon and Oldham NLI, there the embarrassing clubs not paying players wages during the last year, other been the bottom of the whole lge what should we be embarrassed about, ok we could say the tinpot ground ( that we don’t own anyway).
October 8, 2021 at 7:54 pm #215096Uptheiron99 now Peters business have got the ground and land because he says he can now get funds because no-one lends money to a football club. What does the football club get in return.
If and a big if we sold a player for big money.
Who would get that. The club or business.
I have supported Peter but we have had promise after promise and nothing as happened and that was before covid.
Now he talks about access rd ?1 user thanked author for this post.

October 9, 2021 at 8:05 pm #215192OK Awaywego so in your opinion we are not an embarrassment to the football league. Well today’s result and fans saying we are an embarrassment proves that heartbreakingly we certainly are. One person to blame for all of this by having no interest in the football at our Club, only in the value of the stadium and assets. We attended the very first forum which Swann organised and from that night we saw through him and didn’t trust him at all. Wish I had been proved wrong.

October 9, 2021 at 10:01 pm #215220Today performance just proves we are in deep trouble and for the sake of his career and the club cox IMO should resign and save the ignominy of the sack! He is surely the luckiest manager in English football to still have a job.
He record during the last 24 for games is one win three draws and 20 losses, yes he is a scunny lad and has scunny in his heart but unfortunately he is just not the right man.
I think his choice of assistant was wrong and he has again IMO not brought anything the club, thought with mcmahon coming we would at least but harder to beat and earlier this season I thought we had turned a corner but the last 4 games have proved nothing has changed.
We need something very very quickly because I can see us continuing to slide down the leagues if we drop this season, experienced players in Taft,Davis, and bunn (which was always a massive gamble with his injury record) look devoid of ability, ideas and seem to just be going through the motions.
I have also never seen a scunny side that doesn’t seen to care as much has this lot in 50 years of supporting them, even the late 70’s team had pride in wearing the shirt and realised they were lucky to have a bit of football ability to allow them to work in a job they enjoyed.
I have a season ticket but I just can’t go at the minute as it is sole destroying sitting through teams out playing, out thinking, working harder and damm well just caring more so feel I cannot give the club anymore of my hard earned money.
So all in all it is a f@%£ing mess from the top to the bottom, we won’t see mr Swann leave so mr cox and mr lillis i’am sure not be in charge for the game against forest green next Saturday, so his next choice as manager has to be 110% right else we are doomed.

October 9, 2021 at 10:12 pm #215224On the pitch today we were an embarrassment, but you said we were THE embarrassment of the football league, totally different.
October 10, 2021 at 8:38 am #215248Yesterday we were the embarrassment of the football league. Particularly listening to the match report from Tom Newey on Radio Humberside, the after match interview with Davis and listening to fans reports of the match. Our 600 supporters paid travel and ticket expenses and then for the team as a whole to collapse as it did and not show any passion for the game is an embarrassment and a disgrace. Davis said some of the players didn’t look like league 2 standard, so considering he had a bad game does that mean he is one of those players or couldn’t he simply be bothered. SWANN, COX AND LILLIS must take full responsibility for this utter shambles. What an EMBARRASSMENT.

October 10, 2021 at 10:02 am #215255You don’t need to tell me i was there, as much as swanny needs to take the blame for assembling the management team, Cox trained and put that team out yesterday.

There is only one ‘somebody’ who can change anything and, as his apparent 10 year plan seems to be almost complete, that looks unlikely.
