Iron Bru › Forums › Blast Furnace › Frank Burrows RIP
Former Iron who made 106 appearances for the Iron in the 1960s has passed away.
Good player, oh for one like him now to shore up this defence.
One of the very finest centre backs to put on an Iron shirt in my time.
No unchallenged pathways through the middle when Frank was playing. R.I.P.
Burrows and Burkinshaw toghether as I recall ( Someone will correct me if that’s wrong ).I sure remember Frank playing for us, hard as nails and a very solid defender. Things you do remember like he took a pen once and stuck it right in the top corner of the Donny Road End where all us young lads were gathered behind, dont see many pens like that anymore, not at Scunny anyway. RIP Frank thanks for the memories.

Yep.
Goalie went the wrong way.
I wuz there.
Yup.
I came on here just to mention that very penalty. Really hammered it into the GK’s top corner – the hardest struck penalty of its type I’ve ever seen and I was right in line as it missed the woodwork by a centimetre all round.
Best CB I’ve seen for the Iron and Burkinshaw was a great foil for him.
Fond memories of Burrows, the team and OSG in those days.
