Pathetic.
When was the last season we capitulated so easily at home?
This group of players seem to have neither ability nor shame.Quicksands Stadium, more like.

March 9, 2021 at 11:56 pm #203295Could be worse. Could be Liverpool!

March 10, 2021 at 12:22 pm #203321Prem champions and European and World club champions?
I’d take that.March 10, 2021 at 12:32 pm #203324I misread the OP title, thought it said Fortress Fanny, presumed alcy was discussing his private residence. Just leg pull alcy, chill out.

I’d take that. You definitely wouldn’t, you would find all sorts of faults to pick.

Leg pull?
Sounds fishy.
March 11, 2021 at 7:36 pm #203381I still think it is the worse team we’ve ever had.
7 wins and 24/24 position in the 74-75 season would suggest otherwise.
In fact, most of the 70’s and early 80’s saw us languishing in the lower reaches of the football league.

March 11, 2021 at 8:05 pm #203383This is true.
But at least those teams gave 100% and weren’t utterly dull to watch. Can we say the same of ANY team turned out since Alexander?

Yep, this season in terms of effort. Are you not watching the games?
“At least they gave 100%” is a laughable excuse. That is the bare minimum required from any footballer.

There are several recently, some still here, that would do well to be reminded of that.

From what I’ve be seen this season we have our usual quota of sulkers, lazy lads, and malingerers.
Are you denying that?March 12, 2021 at 6:26 am #203392How many is usual quota?
From the games I’ve watched I’d say we have Mcatee and that’s it.I’d also safely assume we have less than those that were in 74-75 side that finished bottom of the pile with 7 wins.
March 12, 2021 at 7:50 am #203393“From what I’ve be seen”.
What have you seen?
March 12, 2021 at 9:42 am #203396As usual with alcy it’s not what he sees it’s what ” he wants to see “, there is a huge difference of course.
March 12, 2021 at 11:14 am #203403Ah, sorry lads.
Must be mistaken.
I was under the impression we have players under-performing, a manager who seemingly doesn’t know either his best team or even best formation, were playing some of the most boring football ever seen at Glanny, regularly lose at home, having an appalling home record, regularly have few shots on target and are sitting in the bottom seven?
Silly me.
I’m so glad the usual suspects have put me right,😅😅😅March 12, 2021 at 11:45 am #203406You’ve said our team is sulky and contains lazy lads yet can’t name more than one. I’m happy for you to give me the list?
Or are you just making false assumptions because you don’t like the chairman?

March 12, 2021 at 12:39 pm #203410In my view only McAtee has demonstrated laziness this season. We are short of players though that “set the tone” for the rest of the team to respond to. I mean demonstrating that every match and indeed every challenge is important.
Gillead, O’Malley and Onaraise are the only ones who have done this consistently this season which is probably why most fans like these guys. Karajan did it from the moment he appeared although he seemed subdued against Exeter the other night. I am prepared to put that one down to fitness.
The four of them lead by example but none have the vocal presence the likes of Bishop and Murphy used to have. If you didnt work hard enough when those guys played then you knew about it fairly quickly. Imagine how Murphy would have reacted to McAtee trying a hopeful backheel and then slowly walking back to the halfway line.
The rest of the team work hard enough but only just enough unless the team are having a good period in the game. They can all disappear or go through the motions when things are not going so well. I would have like to have seen a few players furious when they walked off after the game on Tuesday – not because we lost to a decent team but because we did not even compete with them.
I think it is less about laziness and more about intensity. Does it matter enough? Am I afraid of getting a bollocking from my peers for letting my team down?
March 12, 2021 at 1:11 pm #203413Whilst it’s true that McAtee is the only one consistently disinterested there have been times when Clarke, KVV, Loft and Eisa haven’t looked that bothered. Have they given 100% in every game? Not IMHO.

March 12, 2021 at 3:13 pm #203426They are exactly the type of players that need a leader or two to keep them on their toes every game.
Much as I like Clarke he is not that leader. I think Gillead is our best player and he is not either.
Step up Karajan or Spence perhaps?

March 12, 2021 at 3:46 pm #203430Not a chance of that happening. Selections are continually disrupting any chance of stability. The tactical wizard should consider a new career.
Post match comments are constant source of amusement ! I mean what the hell is this rubbish ” We need to get some freshness in them ” !!
We have improved but that is because we recruited Taft & Karacan. If they weren’t there we would be in big trouble.

Errrr, sorry.
I have actually named no names.
I have repeated one name given by someone else.
I’m not going to start naming names just to please you or anyone else.
The underperforming players know who they are, as do we.
I’m just surprised that some on here seem to think everything is hunky dory.
Or are they just saying the opposite of whatever I say?
Wouldn’t surprise me… it’s the usual suspects.April 14, 2021 at 5:29 pm #204790Just revisiting this thread to give those that told me I was wrong a chance to apologise, given what we have learned about the players recently.
April 14, 2021 at 6:26 pm #204797In terms of more than one not pulling their weight during the last few games-I’d definitely say there’s a few more to add to the list.
However, the work rate has been there for the majority of the season and is in fact probably one of the only reasons we are not heading to non-league.
The real issue was highlighted last night- we have players at this club which aren’t good enough.
