We’re in deep shit regardless, wondergoals. I take your point on Dean and it’s probably looking like he’s not good enough. But our problems are systemic and run deeper than him.
Take a step back and look at the bigger picture, we are in a death spiral and have been for 5 years now. Sacking Dean at this point feels like changing the carpets when the house is on fire.
Just read on Twitter we are allegedly paying Dean Rance £1,500 a week when he’s carrying an injury. If you want to start pointing fingers at our demise then stupid shit like that will be the best place to start.

April 10, 2023 at 9:20 pm #259713In know but having a clueless manager is hardly helping. If that’s true about Rance then Hilton needs to get a grip because that’s absolutely ridiculous.
April 10, 2023 at 9:38 pm #259718Employing Dean in the first place was the stupid decision. As I said before if Nelson and Hilton had taken us down no one would have complained. Apparently we need Jimmy to bring in his own players and then have ten games. We could have done that at the end of this season, what’s the difference ?

April 10, 2023 at 10:09 pm #259721The difference is he’ll have leeway with Hilton but not much due to how he’s done this season, whereas if he came here with a clean slate and got all his own players in we could potentially have been in even more trouble as he would have been here for longer.
Point I also come back to is that he’s tactically absolutely clueless and he’s failed to get the best out of what he’s got now. The reason Elliot has been so bad is because he either plays him as a lone frontman or out wide and everybody knows he suits neither role but he’s hellbent on playing that awful formation he’d rather put square pegs in round holes.
It honestly does baffle me that he still keeps persisting with it. I just don’t get it at all. Even today he was a bit more braver and stuck two strikers on but even then we ended up with Bennett and Carver up there.
Appears to me that Dean knows one formation 4/2/3/1 and starts with it no matter what. Dean just doesn’t appear to have the required tactical nous to even play 2 up front, he has one way of playing and that’s really your lot.
Next season we need to put some serious building blocks in place in terms of stability and the thought of Dean having free reign to sign who he wants to fit that awful formation scares the hell out of me and I’m not entirely sure there’s a way back from that if he carries on flattering to deceive.
Hilton will stay with him but if it was me personally I’d give him the next 3 matches and call it a day. 17 games is enough with new players to improve but if anything we’ve gotten worse.
Other teams have done it this season and are turning their season around so there’s no excuse.
April 11, 2023 at 3:12 am #259741shame a certain Graham Alexander was at GP today to witness relegation … how i wish Swan had not sacked him and he could come back ..one of my favourite Scunny managers of all time.

April 11, 2023 at 7:44 am #259745Sad to say but I’m not at all baffled by the guy persisting with the same formation(?) game in game out, irrespective of the opposition or players available to him. Why ? Have you heard the guy speak ????? He has to be THE thickest manager out there. When a guy can barely string two or three words together to form a coherent sentence, how the hell can he be expected to communicate with players, let alone have the mental capacity and thought processes required to consider options, alternatives and responses under pressure ? From listening to his inane pre and post interviews it’s clear we’ve employed a pub club manager, a shouter and bawler, no more, no less.
Does anyone at the club even think about testing basic intelligence before appointment?
April 11, 2023 at 7:54 am #259746Oh dear someone is really sulking over different points of view from others, how marvellous.
Not seething, laughing at you

0% intelligenceThats what we’ve got in the manager.
The strange one is the chairman – he must see Dean out of his depth, the players giving up, the lack of in game tactical changes, the fact he seems to struggle to interview well. The thought of getting all of Dean’s players in over the close season strikes fear into me. Suggesting a person who had half a season in NLN for a part time team has the experience is equally terrifying.
April 11, 2023 at 9:10 am #259749Wind up merchant indeed, your the one spouting untruths continually, just because you want things to be true doesn’t mean they are, having an opinion is fine but just stop making things up, at least 5 believed you and that’s not right especially when you won’t own it.
