Scunnymatt, I’m you’ve read my offering above your post. I also pin the blame on Swann…not hard to see who’s at fault.

It was either last week or the week before, Swann came on the radio pre match and knew a hell of a lot about how we were going to play.

I suspect other parties down at the club may have a hand in team matters. I’m not saying they do by any means, but, it’s what I’ve been suspecting now for quite some time.

I’ve had my fill of Swann now to be honest.

Ideally we stay up by the skin of our teeth this coming season and he waves by to the club. In my eyes he’s the catalyst for all the bullshit. We need a chairman to come in, in the mould of Wharton who employ good honest people and let’s them do their jobs.

This is all I ask for. No bullshit with club employees signing players..just a steady chairman who takes care of the business side of things and stays in the background.

Until we get that, we’re never going to move forward as a club…it’s need completely restructuring and returning to how it used to be under Wharton.

I don’t hate Swann by any means but my club means more to me than he does and I feel he’s the one who’s front and centre of all the bullshit. I was hoping things would have changed this season and he would have learnt his lesson but yet again a mixed bag of completely the wrong players signed by people who have no real idea.

We have an extremely worrying unbalanced squad with little to no experience with an inexperienced manager to boot. I suppose we had to go down that route though because what experienced manager would have come here with other people signing all the players and pre appointing a captain ?

Cox isn’t even really here as a manager, he’s here really as a caretaker.

I’m sick to death of it all.

If we are going to talk about relegation, can we please make sure we get the name right? It is the GM Vauxhall Conference!

I completely understand the frustration with current affairs and, in particular, with the chairman. However there is one thing that I don’t understand at all.
Money comes into the club via supporters attending matches (or via ifollow at the moment) so how can it be in the chairmans interest to lose supporters by playing dire football and taking the club out of the league?

Scunnymatt, just because I ask what proof there is that Swann is involved in picking the team does not mean that I support him.

A number of people on here post rubbish and yet it gets repeated and becomes “fact”. No proof, no logical reasoning.

My view is that Swann is unable to identify a decent manager. It is onvious that we need some experience at this level and we don’t have it.

He can’t be blamed for all the dross that has been brought in. Numerous managers over the years take the blame for that.

People who say that no-one with experience would take the role are wrong. There are a number of unemployed managers who could take it on.

Sadly, I think we will be stuck with Swann for some time. He hasn’t learnt much over the last few years, let’s just hope he has some sort of epiphany in the near future.

….but Cass doesn’t that bring us back around to the same old point, Swann believes he is correct doing it his way, he thinks it will eventually come right doing it his way. It’s a bit like telling Trump not to wear make-up because it makes him look as big a twat as he sounds, these egotistical people just don’t get it because their way is the only way. It’s sad but true, we are shafted.

There was evidence that Swann meddles in team affairs. A couple of years ago the squad were on a team coach (think it was one of those Austria pre season tours). Hakeeb was live streaming on Instagram…someone commented “where’s the gaffer?”…Jack King (who had left the club by this point) replied “you mean Peter Swann?” There was then laughter and comments such as “better take this down before getting in trouble”. If that’s not horse’s mouth then I don’t know what is!

How do we get from the reasoned, general opinion that the team needs a proper spine to ensure younger players develop to – the apparently general opinion that most of our signings are not up to it?

The answer is probably the lack of entertainment combined with extreme frustration. But it is just not so.

KVV + Onariase + McGahey back in the team alongside a GK + an old hand CM general and this team has real potential – IF played properly. (I have allowed for Clarke not being available.)

Even without any further new signings – that really should be sufficient to achieve safety with a degree of comfort if we actually play to our strengths.

My view is that Swann is unable to identify a decent manager. It is onvious that we need some experience at this level and we don’t have it.

Mark Robbins and Graham Alexander achieved promotions in their next job after leaving SUFC.

Stuart McCall has a decent track record.

Russ Wilcox achieve a promotion here.

Paul Hurst got the Cods out of non-league and almost took Shrewsbury up.

These are not bad managers. And we have been through so many of them in recent seasons that it is clear that changing the manager doesn’t change anything else.

That said, I would like to know when we last interviewed more than one candidate for the manager’s job. Who is involved in that process?

    Wrong!

    It’s the Vanarama National League.

if we actually play to our strengths

Well so far we’re playing with tucked in wingers with no width, with 1 striker up top…if that’s anything to go by..I think people wanting that maybe in for a rude awakening.

The difference is that, despite being as you describe, Trump’s ego and tactics won an election, our tactics (whoever is to blame) are winning b….. all!

Fair points Cass but Swann got us promoted once under his Chairmanship and its now gone Pete Tong and Trump is heading for a kicking this time around so I will stick to my original points.

Hope you’re right about Trump, do you think he might consider buying PS out when he loses? We’re unlikely to make any profit so he won’t have to worry about paying tax which should appeal to him.

Ha ha maybe Cass maybe, personally I think if Trump loses next month his main priority will be staying out of jail, I think he will be in a lot of trouble if he gets voted out.
