I reckon that that was what Hurst was doing – but then he fell out with someone.
    Sorry, can’t recall who.
And in trying to change that toxicity, the Chairman deserves total support from us. Bickering – until we have summat to bicker about – should be banned.
Objective one: have new look team all together before next season’s training begins …
    Objective two …

It’s not only the fact that ex-players improve elsewhere. For example – anybody remember how good Taft was when he came?

The coaching aspect is a good point. We’ve had players look utter dross or bang average and go on to significantly improve elsewhere. Hill/Hurst in particular are good football league managers, why could they not turn the tide?

Our failures are systemic and pass from one manager to the next and one group of players to the next. Hopefully Hilton can change the culture at the club; No mean feat.

Hurst – saw his attitude on 2 occasions once when watching the academy at Winterton and then watching the U23’s at Birch Park, Bottesford Town. Was shocked at what I saw. And then it seems he upset Mr EGO.

With Keith Hill – like many thought good choice but quickly realised a disaster was on the cards !

Talking of coaching..anyone heard anything on a bust up involving mussy.

On incoming players….turnbull been putting names out to Jimmy, but Jimmy’s not heard of any of them ,has zero knowledge of the names.

One player Jimmy has expressed a keenness on getting playing though is Andy Butler

Butler has the experience required and already coaching here, decent cheap option imo.

Give over. He was poor when he came back last time and is a few years older now so certainly no quicker or better. Remember him for the good times.
As for Turnbull giving names to Jimmy that he’s never heard of, probably they’re players of a higher standard than NLN which is where Jimmy’s player knowledge is based sadly.

Just the same as Turnbull knows shite all about Nln, Butler does, which players did
Turnbull bring to the table while he was in charge,at least 4 of DH and JD’s look something like, Chapman, Elliott, Everton and Sembi.

    Heard nothing, read something.

    New Fishy Forum:

“He (Shrimpton) looked good on loan at Clee and was putting in some solid performances for Gainsborough but it’s a big jump up. With some proper training (I’ve heard a horror story about Musselwhite’s keeper coaching recently) and a decent mentality about the place, he could come good.”

Telling you now a section of those fans are up to no good. Musselwhite in a supposed keeper coaching nightmare, despite him being vastly experienced and was a top keeper himself and then you get this rumour.

I bet Musselwhite had Foster wearing a jockstrap after forgetting he was playing football and not cricket.

    Unbelievable Jeff !

He hasn’t managed to improve a keeper in 10 years though to be fair.

Slocombe definitely improved. Apart from that though we’ve signed experienced keepers and most have been shite. Foster has improved to be fair to him, he’s still dodgy at times but that’s to be expected at his age.

Rory Watson was Rory Watson, not entirely sure he would have improved much despite who was training him.

The best keeper we’ve had of recent times has been O’hara on loan which tells it’s own story.

Mussy nails every keeper to his line, sorry to say, time he was binned. Foster will never progress with him coaching.

Not true. I’ve seen Foster come off his line once or twice. Progress is progress !

If we hadn’t had the Sheff Utd kid – we might have stayed up.

Rance seemed fairly anonymous to me and Pugh only noticed because of his poor tackles leading to yellow/red cards.

Probably Ogle unfortunately. I don’t think we’ve a great recent record of keeping our Player of the Season if memory serves.

Foster will end up going. I can’t see Butterfield staying either to be honest. Wilson I can understand because if we offer him a contract don’t we get a fee if a team comes in for him ?

Fecking Dean Rance, came injured and hardly played for the last team he was at due to injuries and yet he’s staying. I don’t understand that at all.

Rance has not had one good game for us, hopefully he will turn down the deal. Whitehouse is twice the player Rance is, jimmy dean has absolutely no idea if he thinks rance is the answer to our midfield problems. Not happy at all with that decision, all the rest are as expected.
